Essential Functions
The Event Services Specialist will report to the Moody Performance Hall General Manager and will aid in the development and execution of the center's programing and activities, including providing front of house management during performances and/or events, supervision of advance/planning processes, supervision of vendors providing event support, and execution of daily event operations related to the venue.  

  • Working closely with user organizations to plan and coordinate events, requiring the ability to multi-task and maintain frequent contact with many clients while maintaining detailed information for each scheduled and prospective event
  • Ability to act as Manager-On-Duty, responsible for the overall operation of the venue during user events
  • Supervision of part-time front of house staff and coordination of third-party contract vendors, including janitorial, security, and food and beverage service partners
  • Front-of-house and patron management including conflict management
  • Promoting positive artist and user group relations with the venue
  • Promoting positive public relations with all patrons and promotion of the performance hall, it's programming, and user groups
  • Working closely with the General Manager on special projects including statistical reporting, marketing initiatives, etc.
  • Assist in rental scheduling (booking) operations
  • Assist with payment settlement/collection of user fees
  • Work closely with the General Manager on implementation/evaluation/maintenance of venue operational policies, safety plans, user guidelines etc.
  • Keep clear records including event files, incident reporting, financial records, etc.
 
**Performance of the duties and responsibilities of the position will require a flexible schedule, with frequent evening and weekend shifts for events.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION:
  • An undergraduate degree (B.A., BFA) in Music, Theatre Arts, Museum Studies, Communications, Arts Administration, or a related arts field is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience coordinating or executing events in a professional performing arts and/or live events setting
