Nowthat it's nearly charged on a different charger, if I move it back to the Sonos charger the charger no longer flashes red. I've seen this once before, and now wonder if it happens when the Roam battery is nearly flat.

Also I've now fished the plug out of the cabinet, it's what appears to be an Apple Watch or iPhone (folding) rather than multi. I've swapped in an Anker PowerPoint 5 until I can retrieve the Sonos one from storage.

Some older iPhone chargers are not strong enough to effectively charge Roam, either via USB-C or attached to a wireless charger, so that is likely what was causing it here; either that or a misaligned Roam.

I just running down the Roam now so I can try again later and hopefully confirm this was the issue. Strange that it's been charging happily on that since day 1, and only just complained. Maybe because battery was lower?

Indeed. If the battery was completely depleted, it can take quite a long time, and a bit more juice to get it back to 15% (the level at which it would power back on and become operational) compared to anything above that.

When the Roam is almost depleted, the red light appears. When I charge it via USB-C and another charger first the red light disapears. I have a sneaking suspicion the included charger is not powerful enough.

When the light finally goes solid, the battery is not technically full... Canon suggests that if you leave it on the charger for 1 more hour after you see it go solid then the charger will top-off the battery.

Your camera owner's manual will have a section on charging the battery (and it's usually right near the beginning of the manual because it's one of the first things they want you to do when you get a new camera.) It should describe this for you.

I've had a problem with charging sometimes with my envy 13 d.004no. Today it stopped working for the whole day. I plug in the charger and it show the white light but not the orange light (not charging)! I've tested the charger on another computer and it works. The computer is only 3 months old and never dropped it, please help me!

I understand that you have an HP ENVY Notebook - 13-d004no and the battery does not charge in it. The charging light is white and the same charger works fine on another laptop. Fabulous analysis. Spectacular diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that.

Just for clarification, this is not a faulty unit. It would be nice to be able to either dim the light or turn it off completely. Not sure if this could be addressed in a firmware update sometime, or maybe the light is not controlled by the firmware. In any event, I will probably cover it with something for the time being or just not charge my phone overnight.

To solve the blinking colon issue, you can turn the display off between the hours you normally sleep by setting the display to night mode. If you want to see the time, just push any button and the display will turn on temporarily.

My daughter said she left her mac pro on the charger before school. She came home and mac will not turn on and no green light on charger. Not sure if there is something that I can do to test it before buying new charger.

You may have a buildup of static electricity in the logic board. disconnect the power cable and hold the power button for 30 seconds then plugin and startup. If that doesn't work, hold the power button for 1 minute, and 2 minutes if necessary. This should discharge any static in the system.

Guys I once read a similar discussion... And it had a solution too, but I was dumb enough to not do the needful at that moment.....I am also facing the same problem of no light on MagSafe and no response whatsoever from MacBook Pro .... Any solution please let me know..

I can't get the computer to respond at all (its dead) so I am unable to go through the steps in the article. The power cord button is not green. I think I going to buy a new charger and see if that is the issue. Thanks!

My problem is very similar. For some time the indicator light on the magsafe adapter would either glow orange or not glow at all when it should have been glowing green. Jiggling it would fix it temporarily. Got progressively worse. My computer died in the middle of web browsing - just crashed. Would not turn on. Pushing indicator button on battery caused rapid flashing of one led for about 5 seconds. This pattern was not addressed on battery support page (4 other patterns were). Battery is 4 years old. Had been getting error message about battery but it stated "take your computer in to get serviced". I thought is was good chance battery had finally died and diagnostic circuitry in battery had shut it down. Ordered and received new battery. Would not start up at first but after charging for awhile it did. Not long after condition recurred. Won't start; battery diagnostic light spasdic. Now I don't think original battery was ever shot. Have green light on magsafe all the time, but tranformer on charger stays cold; ditto for computer battery. Thing that contradicts analysis that charger is shot is that it added enough charge originally to enable startup of computer. It's 3 hrs. to nearest Apple store. My bet now is that its the magsafe adapter (charger). Only concern was original error message that stated COMPUTER should be taken in for servicing. Before I spring for second investment, does anyone else understand symptoms and agree it must be the adapter or should I make an appointment at genius bar in Columbus?

Talked with an Arlo tech and was informed that the solid fully charged blue light does come on at 100% charged, but also goes out after some period of time. So if you charge the battery for several hours it may be out when you return. Have since charged the battery and the fully charged blue light came on at 100%. Did not wait around to see if it indeed goes out after a period of time.

Before I go through the process of setting up the whole system/base unit, how can I tell if the batteries are fully charged or faulty. Is my understanding that a solid blue means the battery is fully charged incorrect? If the blue light assumption is not valid how do I know when the batteries are fully charged.

One option is to attempt to on-board the cameras anyway, as you don't really need a fully charged battery to do that. If that succeeds, you'll be able to see the charge level in the app (or on a PC by browsing to my.arlo.com)

I guess I should have said that I actually charged one camera/battery overnight and the second camera/battery for over 6 hours. I checked as suggested and found that each time I attach the magnetic plug to the camera I get a flashing blue light on both cameras. It flashes for about 2 seconds then goes out and stays out. As for a bad cable or charger how can that be verified without exchanging both or either.

The initial blue blinking when connecting power is simply the camera detecting the power connection. You should get the same thing when first inserting the battery. You can try a difference AC charger that provides the same output as the Arlo one to see if there's a difference. Also, wipe both side of the magnetic connection to ensure a proper electrical connection.

For personalized support specific to the Arlo products you own, access Support from within the Arlo iOS or Android App. Simply login to your Arlo App, go to Settings, Support, then select the Arlo product you would like support for.

I'm not sure if my batteries are being fully charged. Somehow the yellow 80% light never goes away and both lights ( green & yellow ) stay on indefinitely. Anyone else has experienced that? Does anyone know if it affects the batteries or if my charger is defective?

The green light doesn't even work on my charger... Once the yellow light comes on - it never turns off... It seems to still charge correctly though so I have never returned it despite being obviously faulty. I can't bear to be without my camera.

I have two batteries but the Australian Leica dealer is in another state so I'm guessing I'd be without the charger for a couple of weeks if I sent it away. Given that it still charges I haven't bothered. To be honest, I wasn't aware of an after market charger. Maybe you've sparked me into action.... Thanks!

A minor point but one that should be included in the FAQ. Thanks for this. Had the same question. With both amber and green indicators lit, intuitively one would think the battery had reached 80% capacity then stopped before fully charged.

Oz_Hillbilly, I don't know whether you have the original (more bulky) charger or the later one. You can buy the later one as a separate item . I got mine from Popflash when I had my M8 and the M9 comes with the new one.
