This song Look Pon Me is one I found on Youtube by a Jamaican artist Natalie Storm.

I haven't started on a uplay2 arrangement for it yet and need help with the Jamaican lyrics, (as a first step writing them down and then adding some translation as a commentary) but I could hear a mention of the "big man from Galilee".

This is the kind of video watched by children, so provided you deem it age-suitable, doing the lyrics as subtitles to the video would enable them to read patois as they follow the lyrics to sing along while listening, karaoke style.

Attention to the written lyrics (with chord prompts as in my example videos) is also necessary right now to get the timing for uplay2 accompanying.

We can also have playing notes for the song with English translations of the Jamaican so everyone can understand the meaning of what they are singing in Jamaican (I am suggesting we attempt to sing it in English, just understand it sung as it is).

This can be done for any song on Youtube or a bunch of other video sites using the overstream.com free service.

Clarification; I omitted the word "not" in
(I am not suggesting we attempt to sing it in English, just understand it sung as it is)

This approach would be great for any Jamaican song and I would be very grateful for Jamaican speakers and bi-lingual speakers to contribute them.

Brian,

The songs are great and I see where they can be implemented. I am reading your explanations to get a thorough understanding of the method and arrangements.

Presently I am trying to Identify some youth with a background in music to come on board as interns/volunteers to learn the method and follow our implementation plan ( to be organised).

Hope all is well
Will be in touch soon.

Thanks.
