excentos is offering a full-time position as Frontend Engineer / JavaScript Developer, starting ASAP. We are an innovative e-commerce startup creating online product advisors. On the frontend we use the Dojo Toolkit to inject a full-blown widget-based application into a client's page cross-domain. On the backend we have a Java stack including a special matching engine to create product recommendations based on the user's input which is exposed to the Ajax client as a JSON-RPC webservice.
We are about 20 people including frontend and backend developers, interaction designers and concepters and it's a fun place to work with all the freedom you need to design, create, and improve innovative applications. excentos is leading the industry in the field of guided selling systems and we provide solutions for top customers like Bosch, Siemens, Blue Tomato (Europe's biggest online store for snowboards), Cyberport, Brother, Toshiba, … We also offer a native iPhone app and will be heading more into the mobile direction.
We are located in a nice Villa in Potsdam but many of us are commuting from Berlin city via S-Bahn or regional train. Come and see it!
YOU ...
... are (or at least show that you're able to quickly become) a very good JavaScript programmer (know at least one dynamic programming language very well).
... are an experienced frontend developer (HTML/CSS, JavaScript eye candy, ...), aka you know how to do it right and how to hack layouts for IE...
... have a deep understanding of web technologies like HTTP, server-client architecture, Ajax security policies, etc.
... speak and write German and English well and love to communicate (fight and help out, write and read docs, ...).
... have knowledge of software architecture patterns and UI design principles.
In short: be a strong developer and web frontend girl or guy.

Your skills look pretty impressive. We haven't decided for a candidate, yet, but unfortunately it is required for the candidate to be at the office in person on a regular basis. Also we think that fluent German is important to become part of the team.
