November viewings

Hi everyone,

Our next public event at our observatory is scheduled for Saturday, November 2 from 7:30-9:30pm. As usual, the meeting spot is room 417 of Memorial Hall. More information and event updates can be found at: http://projects.upei.ca/astronomy/2019/10/07/november-2019-public-viewing/

We've managed to have two public viewings in a row that weren't cancelled due to weather, so perhaps we'll get lucky on November 2 and make it three in a row!

We will also be holding a special viewing for the Mercury transit on November 11. This will be a sidewalk event and the location and exact times are still being confirmed, but I will send out a notice when details are finalized.

Finally, I would like to take a moment to note the passing of Earl Wonnacott, retired professor of physics, at the age of 98 years. Professor Wonnacott is the person who initiated and oversaw the installation of our observatory, which allows us to host our public events.
