Hello everyone,

We've scheduled a telescope viewing session for Saturday, April 29, from 8:30-10:30PM. The first 30 minutes or so of the viewing time it will still be twilight, so we'll likely view just the crescent Moon during that time, but once it's darker we'll turn the telescope to Jupiter and some other sights. The meeting location is the usual room 417 of Memorial Hall. If the weather doesn't cooperate and we have to cancel, updates will be posted at http://projects.upei.ca/astronomy/2017/04/18/april-29-public-viewing/

Also, an update on the telescopes that are available to borrow from PEI libraries. There are now 5 telescopes: 2 at Confederation Centre Public Library, and 1 each at Cornwall Public Library, Montague Rotary Library, and Stratford Public Library. You can find out more information and put a hold on a telescope on the Public Library website (http://library.pe.ca/) - search "Dobsonian telescope" to find the catalogue listings. You can also watch a video demonstrating the basics of how to use the telescope: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tL7aBNTf0Pc

Cheers,
Megan
