Good afternoon, I wrote on slack and now I am attaching further information to the email .
I’ll start by saying that I am an absolute beginner and I am not familiar with many concepts that might be trivial to you, so thank you in advance for your patience!

In Perlmutter, I need to run MHM2, and while building it I realized I do not have upcxx installed.
Yesterday, upon running ‘which upcxx’, I had as an answer ‘/global/common/software/m2878/perlmutter/upcxx/generic/bin/upcxx’, but today it yielded:
‘which: no upcxx in (/global/cfs/cdirs/m2878/software/pm-2022.03.1/upcxx/generic/bin/upcxx-dispatcher:/opt/nersc/pe/bin:/global/common/software/nersc/bin:/global/common/software/nersc9/darshan/default/bin:/global/common/software/nersc9/sqs/2.0/bin:/opt/nvidia/hpc_sdk/Linux_x86_64/23.9/cuda/12.2/compute-sanitizer:/opt/nvidia/hpc_sdk/Linux_x86_64/23.9/cuda/12.2/bin:/opt/nvidia/hpc_sdk/Linux_x86_64/23.9/cuda/12.2/libnvvp:/opt/nvidia/hpc_sdk/Linux_x86_64/23.9/profilers/Nsight_Compute:/opt/nvidia/hpc_sdk/Linux_x86_64/23.9/profilers/Nsight_Systems/bin:/opt/cray/pe/perftools/23.12.0/bin:/opt/cray/pe/papi/7.0.1.2/bin:/opt/cray/pe/craype/2.7.30/bin:/opt/cray/pe/mpich/8.1.28/ofi/gnu/12.3/bin:/opt/cray/pe/mpich/8.1.28/bin:/opt/cray/libfabric/1.20.1/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/lib/mit/bin:/opt/cray/pe/bin)’.

So, I tried to download, configure and build upcxx.
Attached there are the outputs of the different commands, separated. Apparently the compiling tests are successful, but the running tests are not.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Regards
Marta

to Marta Cerruti, UPC++
Marta,

On Perlmutter we have installed UPC++ in a public location.  To access that install, 'ml contrib upcxx' should be sufficient.

More information can be found at https://upcxx.lbl.gov/site/perlmutter
