If we can win one game, shouldn't we try?" Nothing like an inspirational sports movie to make everything better, right? LD Entertainment has debuted a second trailer for a true story movie called The Miracle Season, about a high school girls' volleyball team that had to overcome a tragic loss of one of their players. The cast of the film is lead by Helen Hunt, William Hurt, Danika Yarosh, Erin Moriarty, as well as Tiera Skovbye and Nesta Cooper. The Miracle Season is based on the inspiring true story of West High School girls' volleyball team. In 2011, their star player Caroline Found tragically died in a moped accident, but the team (and town) came together and overcame the hardship to win the season. The story was already profiled on HBO's "Real Sports" series, but this looks like an emotional sports drama maybe worth a watch.

Based on the inspiring true story of West High School girls' volleyball team. After the tragic death of the school's star player Caroline "Line" Found, the remaining team players must band together under the guidance of their tough-love coach in hope of winning the state championship. The Miracle Season is directed by veteran American filmmaker Sean McNamara, of the films Soul Surfer, Space Warriors, Bratz, Raise Your Voice, Race to Space, Treehouse Hostage, P.U.N.K.S., and 3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain previously. The screenplay is written by David Aaron Cohen and Elissa Matsueda. This has not premiered at any film festivals yet or anywhere else. LD Entertainment will release Sean McNamara's The Miracle Season in select theaters starting April 6th coming up soon. Who's interested in seeing this film?

Paris-based Memento International, which boarded world sales on the film on the eve of its Venice debut, has also sold the film to France (Arizona Distribution), Greece (Weirdwave) and Portugal (Films4You).

As well as posting first deals, the company has also unveiled the first international trailer (watch above). Divided into two chapters, the film revolves around the case of a young nun who sneaks out of her isolated convent to attend to an urgent matter but never returns. The second part follows the investigation into her fate.

Gone are the days when we'd have to wait for the actual Super Bowl for trailers teased for the big game to drop. Now, in order to get out ahead of the avalanche, studios are pushing out their promos in advance. It's welcome, though, since we get an earlier-than-promised look at Jordan Peele's new horror thriller, Nope.

This first proper look at the film continues some traditions of Peele trailers: a classic track used in a new way in this case, Stevie Wonder's 'Fingertips', creepy imagery (working with Peele here is regular Christopher Nolan cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema) and the promises of some major scares. There's even Get Out's Daniel Kaluuya in the cast for good measure.

Sony Picture Classics has just released a new trailer for their upcoming film The Miracle Club, which stars screen legends Maggie Smith, Kathy Bates, and Laura Linney, among others. Along with the new trailer, the film also set its release date for July 14, 2023. The upcoming film is set to debut at the Tribeca Festival this June before it makes its theatrical release in July.

The Miracle Club is set in and filmed in Ireland. Taking place in 1967, the film tells the story of three generations of friends who have made a home in an Irish town. Each member of the group shares one dream: to make the pilgrimage to the French town of Lourdes in the hopes of experiencing a miracle. When the women win a trip to the French town, they jump at the opportunity. However, the trip is complicated by the arrival of Chrissie, played by Linney, who arrives in Dublin for her mother's funeral after a decades-long absence. Chrissie joins the women on their trip in the place of her mother, and her presence reveals decades-old wounds that will have to be confronted as they search for a miracle. Maggie Smith, Kathy Bates, and Agnes O'Casey star in the film alongside Linney. And if you find yourself in the mood for more Kathy Bates, you can always look forward to her upcoming Matlock reboot.

The new trailer, released today, gives us our first glimpse into the upcoming film. The trailer shows Chrissie returning to Ireland after a decades-long exile in order to attend her mom's funeral. Her own pilgrimage home is offset by the other women of the Miracle Club group, who have lived their lives in Ireland, as they prepare for their upcoming opportunity to visit Lourdes. Eileen, played by Bates, and Lily, played by Smith, express no small amount of bitterness toward Chrissie, who was the exiled daughter of one of their closest friends.

But the trailer gives us a look at a possible bridge to resolution between Chrissie and the women from whom she has found herself alienated. The trailer serves up moments of grief intermixed with heartwarming, character-driven hilarity that is sure to bring you tears and smiles in equal order. If the trailer leaves you feeling peckish for Irish film, you can also check out some other treasures from the Emerald Isle here.

Voicing characters for the upcoming Netflix series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance is a Potter reunion for the ages! Jason Isaacs, Lucius Malfoy, Helena Bonham Carter who played his sister-un-lawful, Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange, and Toby Jones who voiced her Deathly Hallows Part 1 victim Dobby the House Elf, are all voicing recurring roles in the sci-fi, fantasy series based on 1982 adventure film The Dark Crystal from creator of the Muppets, Jim Henson. Here is a synopsis of the plot according to Netflix,

It looks like a couple of other Wizarding World alumni will be joining those three, and all but little Dobby seem to hail from the dark side. Ralph Ineson who played Death Eater and hated interim Head of House Amycus Carrow in the last three Harry Potter films and lafur Darri lafsson who played Skender the oppressive owner of the Circus Arcanus in Crimes of Grindelwald also to appear to have periodic roles in the series. We wish Toby Jones the best of luck working with this crew-poor Dobby!

MIRACLE IN EAST TEXAS, the award-winning family comedy, starring Kevin Sorbo, John Ratzenberger, Louis Gossett Jr., Tyler Mane, and Sam Sorbo and will premiere exclusively in select theaters on October 29 & 30th through Fathom Events. The trailer and ticket information are available at www.miracleineasttexas.com

MIRACLE IN EAST TEXAS is inspired by a true story and centers around two con-men during the Great Depression who convince lonely widows to invest in their worthless oil wells. When their scheme is exposed, the unthinkable happens! The movie was filmed in and around the natural beauty of Alberta and Calgary Canada.

In 1931, a pair of con artists, Doc Boyd and Dad Everett (Sorbo, Ratzenberger), blow into the small Texas town during the Great Depression targeting the savings of lonely widows with an oil scam. The vulnerable widows quickly fall prey to their romantic gestures and promises of profits. Then, miraculously, the unthinkable happens and they literally strike oil.

Will these miracles make honest men out of these swindlers and change their larcenous conniving ways? This tall tale inspired by a true story comes from a time when bums became billionaires and sinners became saints.

Until now, details about "Heretic" have been kept under wraps. However, when it was first announced, Deadline reported that the film was rumored to "center on two young women of faith who are lured into a cat-and-mouse game in the home of an eccentric man." Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter claimed the film would focus on two Mormon missionaries "who attempt to convert a man that turns out to be far more dangerous than they could have anticipated." Since then, details have been scarce, although we were treated to a poster reveal on June 24, 2024, which also confirmed that "Heretic" would star Grant alongside "The Fabelmans" actor Chloe East and Sophie Thatcher (who led last year's eerie and effective Stephen King adaptation "The Boogeyman").

Now, though, the mystery is becoming clearer, with the first trailer for "Heretic" arriving and promising yet another compelling horror entry from A24. The studio has been responsible for some truly terrifying films over the past decade or so, from "Hereditary" to "X." Now, it's Hugh Grant's turn to spook us all, and it looks like this could actually turn out to be a great next move for the "Paddington 2" alum.

The usual retort to the question, "Are you interested in learning about our savior Jesus Christ?" is, for most of us, "No, thanks." But Hugh Grant is, according to the new "Heretic" trailer, very interested in doing just that. In fact, he's designed a whole series of games based around testing two young Mormon girls' faith. After trapping Chloe East and Sophie Thatcher's characters in his home, Grant's character offers them this deal: "I won't keep you if you wish to leave, but I want you to choose which door to go through based on your faith." The doors in question are marked "Belief" and "Disbelief," and appear to lead to two separate M.C. Escher-style mazes specifically design by the old creep to test the girls' mettle. From there we see Grant's character working on some dioramas, which look to be miniature versions of the twisted labyrinths into which he's sent his Mormon visitors.
