Open query regarding World Usability Day

Hi everyone

World Usability Day 2010 is coming up this month - the topic for this year is 'Communication'. As most of this group might be aware, Bangalore has had a consistent history of well-attended World Usability Days since 2006, and each year's event has spanned a range of presentations, student competitions, and interactive audience exercises.

We'd hoped to organize World Usability Day 2010 this year as well in Bangalore, however, this year the usual organizing team has run into a serious bandwidth crunch. Most of us including myself have been extra busy with new work responsibilities and there has been very little time to actually think through organizing an event this year.

While it may still be possible to organize an event over Nov/Dec, we'd need new leaders and volunteers to take ownership for this year's event. The good folks at Yahoo! led by Sandeep Datar can make the Yahoo! cafeteria space and food & bev arrangements. All we need is hands on volunteers and folks with the appetite and capacity to help organize such an event.

If you would like to see the event happen and can contribute in organizing & helping lead a possible event this year, please email myself, Sandeep Datar (dat...@yahoo-inc.com), and Sarit Arora (sarit...@gmail.com) and we can collectively make a decision on the possibility of an event in 2010.

@Amit - As already discussed earlier, I am for this. I think we still can put up an event of good quality by end of Nov.

@Gaurang/NID Folks - Can you guys pitch in? You did a fab job on the Student Chapter Launch. Continuing the momentum, can we talk and take this further?
