I’ve been living in my house for about four years now, and I honestly can’t remember the last time the HVAC system was professionally cleaned. Recently, I’ve noticed more dust on surfaces and a slightly stale smell when the heating turns on. I’m starting to wonder whether duct cleaning is something that should be done preventively, or only when there’s a serious issue. How do you know it’s time?

Online opinions seem divided. Some homeowners say it dramatically improves air quality and system efficiency, while others claim it makes little difference unless there’s visible mold or heavy buildup. Since the ducts are hidden, it’s hard to judge the real condition inside.

I had similar concerns before scheduling a service. After researching local providers, I decided to contact Local experts in HVAC cleaning Comfort Clean because they clearly explained their inspection and cleaning process before giving a quote. What stood out was their focus on assessment first rather than immediately recommending a full service. During the visit, they showed me the buildup inside the ducts and explained how it can affect airflow and energy usage. After the cleaning, the air felt noticeably fresher, and the system seemed to run more efficiently. For me, the improvement justified the decision.
