"Industry restructuring" refers to what e-marketers can do to change the industry dynamics to their favour.
It is related to the concept of "Integration" in that it seeks a more streamlined "end-to-end" process to provide a more complete service to their customers.

Think about Zara.  In order to sense and respond to customers' needs more effectively, Zara had to get closer to their customers.
So it disintermediated its distributors and bought over retailers directly, so that Zara is now in direct contact with end consumers, allowing it to get first-hand information about their needs.  Disintermediation helped to tame the bullwhip effect for Zara, enabling it to create new designs in direct response to customers' changing needs in less than a month.

Then we have Amazon.com.  If you are a small retail merchant with a physical store, setting up an e-commerce store may risk cannibalism where you end up expending resources on a new channel that merely serves your already existing customer.  Instead, you can simply list your products on Amazon.com, which is an intermediary, to take advantage of the hordes of consumers already on that platform.  In this case, intermediation reduces your marketing costs, allowing you to find new customers.

Think about the above and relate the points to marketing.

Ok thank you! Can I just clarify also how industry restructuring is an e-marketing strategy? I understand that industry restructuring is to intermediate, disintermediate or reintermediate but how does it link back to emarketing?

Hi Mr William,

Can I just clarify what is the difference between mobile working and teleworking?
Am I right to say that teleworking require individual to stay at home while mobile working simply means that the individual can perform their job anywhere, not specifically home?

Thank you!
