Jerry,

It doesn't look like anyone has yet responded to your question--sorry for
the delay!

I would suggest checking the Symantec Technical Support site at
http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/nav/allservices_nav.html

for the most comprehensive help with your question. My guess is that a .dll
or other system file that Microsoft Office 6.0 is using is the same as one
NAV 5.0 is using and the newer version of it (from NAV 5.0) will not work
with the older, Windows 3.1, 16-bit Microsoft Office program.

I did a quick search through the Symantec Knowledge Base but did not find
anything specific to your problem. The Technical Support site offers an
"Ask a Tech" service--I would probably ask them directly and see what you
get. (Of course one of the first answers you receive will probably be
"Office 6.0 should be upgraded to a true Windows 95 product" which would be
our suggestion as well.) But since you already said you cannot do this you
may want to stick with NAV 4.0 until such time as you can upgrade the
machines or get new ones.

Good luck!

Sincerely,
Matthew Latterell for microhelp@oregon
