Eudora's Addresses window too narrow

Hello Mr. Plant -
In the Address Book window look just below the window showing your
address for each nickname. If there is a light grey line place your mouse
directly over this line. It should change to a double up and down arrow.
At this point you can move the line up and down, which will, in turn, make
the address window expand.
The issue of "torn" lines in Eudora is almost certainly related to
the email client used to create the message sent to you. There are so many
variations of line endings and line widths, that it's possible you are
receiving messages with something like 80 column wide lines using DOS line
breaks - or some such thing. This can be because the user sending the
email has done this on purpose or inadvertantly, or because their client
does this, or because the client is sending email as HTML encoded text
(Outlook and Outlook Express are famous for this).
There is a chance that Eudora Pro would deal with these messages
somewhat better, but otherwise it's just part of life with email and a
bunch of different clients that don't follow standard conventions. On your
end there is not much you can do once you have received the message.

Thanks! There is indeed a (fairly heavy) horizontal black line (not light
gray) both above and below the window on the right which shows the
addresses of the currently selected nickname. Moving either line adjusts
the height of the address window (which had not been a problem).

But there is also a heavy VERTICAL black line to the right of the window on
the left side (the window that shows the list of nicknames). It was by
moving that vertical line to the left, into that left-hand window itself,
that I was able to expand the address window on the right (while at the
same time the nicknames window on the left shrank).

Thanks to you I now have clean address lines, with the window on the right
wide enough to accommodate all of the address each time. Muchas gracias!
