ONE WEEK LEFT TO REGISTER FOR THE UN YOUTH HUMAN RIGHTS SUMMIT!

LGBT Rights at Home and Abroad

 

A unique, day-long conference, the Human Rights summit will bring together 150 Victorian secondary students to learn about the struggles of LGBT people across the world, and take action to promote human rights.

 

The Summit will feature an opening address from former High Court Justice the Hon. Michael Kirby AC CMG, a roundtable with international human rights activists about how rights are being protected by governments and civil society, as well as interactive workshops on homophobia and human rights promotion.

 

Most importantly, participants will draft a UN resolution on human rights that will be presented to Adam Pulford, Australian Youth Representative to the United Nations, to take to the UN itself.

 

Where: University of Melbourne, Union House

When: 9am to 6pm, 16 May 2013

How much: $15 per student

Who: All students in Year 9-12, you don't need to identify as LGBTQ to attend. Schools can send as many students as they like.
