Good Evening All,

As discussed at today's meeting, I've approached a friend of mine at UMSU regarding sponsorship of the Human Rights Summit.

Unfortunately UMSU is not able to obtain any sort of fee waiver from MU Student Union Ltd (MUSUL is the corporate arm of the Union, wholly university-owned and therefore hates democratically-elected student representatives... The term 'at war with them' was used, in fact!) and it would be unlikely for the UMSU student council to financially support any project or event that does not directly benefit University of Melbourne students. The possibility of support from the Queer Collective was raised, however this is likely to be only in the hundreds of dollars.

I've provided them with a prospectus which my contact will bring to the Queer Officers tomorrow. I'll keep you updated on any progress and keep pushing - should this angle not be successful it may be worthwhile to contact the UMSU Comms Unit to see if they would go for a sponsorship package.

Kind Regards,

Michael Ford

Would I be wrong to say I think Michael has this under control?

I don't think pushing and prodding the exact same person will help?
