Basically the New World is beyond the Red Line, but you cannot "walk" on it, or cross it. It's a huge continent, very tall that you cannot go through. You can't cross the Calm Belt either, unless you have some form of locomotion such as the Navy or Boa Hancock.

Luffy's dream is to be the Pirate King. By definition in One Piece itself, the Pirate King is someone who most freely wanders in the Grand Line. Surely, finding One Piece is a necessity to become the Pirate King, but is not an enough condition.

Luffy loves adventure by nature. He doesn't want to find One Piece so easily. If he wanted so, he could have asked Rayleigh its location in Sabaody Archipelago arc. When Usopp asked it, he shouted him and asked Usopp to stop asking for it. And he said, if he were to learn its location, or even learns if it existed or not, he would quit being a pirate at that moment.

If finding One Piece was his only goal, he could have of course spent his time learning cliff climbing skills instead of wasting his time in the sea. Then he could finally climb that huge wall of Red Line and search for Raftel there.

One more thing to note is that the Location of Raftel is unknown. Even Shirohige didn't know it. Remember that, in a flash-back during the war in Marine Headquarters, Gol D. Roger asks Shirohine if he wants him to tell the location of Raftel.

If there were such an item as the One Piece located at Raftel, the Marines would have been able to get it already. In episode 315, it was pointed out by Coby that the Marines' ships can cross the Calm Belt, and coming from North or West Blue, they would be able to just go to Raftel without doing the complete journey around the world.

There are also lots of other ways for the World Government or the Marines to reach Raftel (e.g. Kizaru could use his mirrors, Kuzan could build an ice stairs, Fujitora could literally fly over there, ...). So if it were as simple as going to Raftel to get the One Piece, the World Government would have done so already, displaying whatever treasure it would be and trying to end this Great Age of Pirates.

I think that the One Piece, being at the end of the Grand Line, simply refers to the fact that to get to the "One Piece", the legendary treasure talked about by the last Pirate King, you will need to travel to the "end" of the seas. In this case, that means traveling through the most remote/dangerous places so that only the worthy can get to it.

Well, if Luffy chose the the easy way, he'd die, because much stronger opponents are trying to get One Piece. Plus, Gold Roger said to go get One Piece, so he must have left a guardian or something. It wouldn't be that easy to become pirate king.

The One Piece is indeed at the end of the grand line but even Big Mom has had trouble finding it. The reason for this is that one cannot find Raftel without being able to read the Poneglyphs, specifically the four red Road Poneglyphs. Each of these leads to an island and the midpoint between those four islands is the location of Raftel. One Road Poneglyph is held by Big Mom, one by Kaido, one is on the moving island of Zao, and one is missing. Thus you can see that someone would have just as much trouble finding One Piece if they crossed the Calm Belt or the Red Line as they would doing things the adventurous way.

i (lorillee) started this blog back in january of 2022, in which i made a post light-heartedly dunking on akainu/kizaru shippers and was subsequently introduced to grand collection and, well, when presented with a new source for marine content, what else was i supposed to do other than spend hours digging up units? i was sorely disappointed to find out nobody had created any sort of an archive for them, and decided to be the change i wanted to see in the world. so if you like this blog, i suppose you can thank the akainu/kizaru shippers (and, more specifically, @giantclamjam) for it.

characters:
all characters will be tagged by name. if you want to find units for a certain character, just search it (characters will be tagged as their full name as seen on the one piece wiki - i.e. trafalgar d. water law, instead of just trafalgar law). there are some random exceptions though because i messed it up at first and then was too lazy to fix it - ex. bon clay is tagged as bon clay as opposed to bentham, shakky as shakky instead of shakuyaku, etc.

whats crazy is that they actually did put Thriller Bark on the map but its in the new world in between hachinosu island & sphinx island. Idk why its there, unless they got spoilers from ODA, its very very wrong.

Love the map!! In Ch 1056 it confirmed the North Pole to be located in the north Blue with the compass shown on the map of the new world. Is it possible to rotate the axis of the globe to have north blue as north, etc.?

Hi Robert! Accordingly the manga chapter 1056 there are 3 islands on North, East and South of Wano. I have made some research and the islands seems to be Sphinx, Hachinosu and Elbaf but in your map Wano is very far from Elbaf. I think maybe Sphinx island should be in the current location of Yukyriu and Elbaf should be in the current location of Sphinx Island.

1) Yes, it is "somewhere" on the Grand Line. My thought process for placing it near Dressrosa was the fact that Jesus Bruges managed to make the trip between these two islands hidden on the revolutionaries' ship, so I think it was a short trip...

2) Essentially for the sake of narrative. It makes sense to me that the journey goes straight ahead, so we have Elbaf, Lodestar and Laugh Tale. Whitebeard was the "Man Closest to One Piece" so there's also Sphinx Island near the end (which must also be close to Wano, because Marco arrived fast). Port Chibaralta is also part of the Whitebeard territory. Hachinosu must also be somewhere in the end, as Blackbeard must be the main villain!

This is my favorite map. I believe goat island should be between sandy island and Jaya. Robin won the ship back during the chess game. It confused me cause all the maps put goat island near the beginning of the story, even though robin was there. Also G-8 comes right after Skypiea, but it is a filler arc.

Man this is amazing! I swear i spent like 2 hours looking at the globe and cross checking with the one piece wiki. It was so much fun seeing the Straw Hats path and also learning about other islands that i didnt know much about.

As a suggestion, I think it would make more sense if the Edd War Sea was before Lodestar Island, considering that after defeating Shikki, the Roger Pirates sailed two years before finding One Piece, for that reason it would make sense that upon defeating him and reaching Lodestar they must return to being unable to advance further (leading to their encounter with Oden).

As explained above, North Blue, South Blue, East Blue and West Blue make up the four seas of the world. Within each Blue, sea travel works as it does in the real world. One can sail to any destination you want with a regular compass. However getting from one Blue to another is much more difficult. The reason is not only because the Red Line separates the two oceans, but also because the seas within one ocean are separated by a large sea route called the Grand Line as well as two Calm Belts .

Given what we know so far, these are islands that must be very close to Wano. The reason they are on the east side is a matter of narrative analysis. As history moves forward, it makes sense for these islands to be located next. But deep down this is speculation, obviously we will update the map when there is new information!

So after Wano Kingdom Arc, they will pass Sphinx Island, Elbaf and Last Island, and Luffy and his crew will reach the Raftel. So after that they will go to reverse mountain again? where brook will Reunite with Laboon, but before that, The Sea Where All oceans flow, All blue is between the redline that look like an X right? Is it possible that from east blue, Luffy, Ussop, Zorro and Nami has already passed or Sailed through All blue? or is it the current?

There is a theory that I particularly like, in which the One Piece is something that will destroy the Red Line (along with Mary Geoise). This will create a connection point between all the seas where Reverse Mountain was located, which will be the All Blue. This will allow Brook to reunite with Laboon, and the rest of the Straw Hats to return to their original seas.

It seems like just yesterday that we arrived home from the Alaska and Tales of the South Pacific cruises. It has been an incredibly busy 6 weeks with routine doctor and dentist appointments, not to mention getting the new Covid boosters and flu vaccines. In between all of this, many dead pine trees needed to be brought down, mostly due to the drought and old age. On the plus side, we have a mountain of firewood for several winters to come. And we only had time to do half of the job. The rest can wait until spring.

The pick-up date was December 14th with UPS as the carrier. A week prior, we received the printed luggage tags for each piece. Tracking the numbers, we learned they all arrived on December 21st. Good news, considering what has happened with the recent airline problems. At least the luggage is in Florida, and we hope we will be there without any hitches.

So the plan for tomorrow is to be picked up by our driver at 3:30am. He was concerned with the heavy rains expected tonight, and asked that we should leave an hour earlier, which is fine with us. Luckily, it is a Saturday, and the traffic should be light. We always like to fly ahead a few extra days, just in case there are delays or cancellations, God forbid. We have packed only one duffel to check on the plane, and a couple of hand carrys each. It is a straight through flight and will get us there after 5pm EST.

It has been three years since we sailed on a world cruise, although we did go on back-to-backs for almost as much time early this year. We are really looking forward to the itinerary as well as seeing many old friends. We basically will make a beeline to the South Pacific, then head south to New Zealand and across to Australia. From there, we will head to the east coast of Africa, around the Cape, and up the west coast. We do have a six day overland from Durban to Cape Town for a safari. We will not go into the Mediterranean, but head north to Norway, with many stops along the way. From the Azores, we will go trans-Atlantic back to Ft. Lauderdale. Of course, there may be changes, and we have learned to roll with them.
