Is this forum still active? Finding venue + beer matches

I'm worried that this forum is not being monitored but I am really curious about if the power of the Untappd database can be used to guide a beer lover to a local venue that features the beer they love.

I've love it if the API supported the ability to search for a beer/style/country and show you what venues in the area by distance that carry those beers.  So let's say now during the winter months I am interested in Tröegs Mad Elf or Delirium Noel, if you could search for those beers and find what venues within a particular range carry those on draft or in bottles, that would be an incredible tool.  Most of the time we go to our local beer spots, see what's on the beer menu that's recently been tapped.   

1. First, do you have that data in your database today?
2. Is that information possible doing an API query for mere mortals?
3. Could you add this as a feature in the Untappd app to enable us to create beer watch lists so that we could create a list of desired beers and then we could get notifications when they show up based on being on a venue's Untappd for Business menus or a user checking that beer in as a visitor

Hi Rick,

I'm not the Greg you're looking for, but what you want isn't available from the public API as far as I know. It is available in Untappd's private API (as seen via the "Find It" feature of the official app -- /v4/beer/find/<beerID>). The only way to re-create this feature on the public API now would be to recursively get check-ins for a specific beer and pull off venue information. I'd imagine you'd quickly run out of API calls before you had enough data for any quantity of beers.

Untappd for Business information is also unavailable on the public API to the best of my knowledge, but let me add my vote for bringing that (and more!) public.

This forum is still monitored - and Greg F. is correct - the find beer functionality is a private API is only allowed to be used by the official app.

At this time - we have no plans to bring the Untappd for Business information to the public API - it;'s available via our business API, however you must have a API key from a customer to access it (docs.business.untappd.com).

In the official app, you can subscribe to beers, and it will always alert you when that beer is available nearby you, so give that a shot and let us know!

Ok, thats really good news.   As a beer lover with specific tastes its terrific to not only checkin but have Untappd keep me informed about when and where my favorite beers appear.   I looked in the app and don't see an obvious subscribe feature.  If I for example search for Mad Elf from Troegs, I can't spot anything on the check-in page that lets me subscribe to it.   How do I execute that alert watchlist?  I'd love to be able to set a watch for beers by country, ABV, style so you can rush to local venues having your favorite beers as they surface,
