Private Foursquare Venues and FSQ Places API (v3)

Foursquare will be deprecating its v2 API mid-2022 (exact date to be announced). One of the benefits of this version, as compared to the new v3 "Places API" is user-generated locations. This allowed home/private venues to be tagged in Untappd check-ins, provided the user had OAuth-authenticated with Foursquare. In v3, there's no user sign-in (no OAuth, API key only), and the database has changed, which to the best of my knowledge means that private venues will no longer be accessible via the API. This includes "Untappd at Home."

How does Untappd plan to handle disappearance of private Foursquare venues, such that third-parties can follow suit?
