Hi all,

Thank you for all using the Untappd API! We're letting you know that as of July 1st, 2019, we will be removing the Client Side Authentication method in the Untappd API for Authentication. We recommend to migrate to the Server-Side Authentication for security purposes.

If have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Thank you your support!

Little late to this party, but what about SPA websites that don't have a server backend and use CSA to link accounts?

At this time, we don’t have solution for this use-case. You don't need a server back-end, just an an ability to direct the user to a login page, and then when it comes back, make a POST request to retrieve the token and store it in local storage - or perhaps I'm not understanding the issue!
