A cosmetic surgeon visits the home of Jocelyn Marshall. Jocelyn claims to have been so hideously disfigured that she can no longer even go outside, and when the surgeon asks what happened to her, Jocelyn mentions that it all started when she visited a beauty salon owned by a woman named Nicole. Jocelyn wanted a makeover before a proposal dinner with her fiancé, Ron, and was attended to by Nicole herself. As Nicole was working on Jocelyn, Jocelyn made numerous conceited remarks about herself, and once the makeover was finished, Jocelyn freaked out over it being dreadful (even though she barely looked any different) and began insulting and threatening Nicole. Nicole, angered by Jocelyn's behavior, proceeded to curse her with "the mirror of your soul."
Jocelyn stormed out of the salon, returned home, washed all of Nicole's makeup and applications off, and then had dinner with Ron. Instead of proposing to Jocelyn, Ron broke up with her, and when Jocelyn asked why, Ron remarked that it was because, "I've noticed some qualities in you that I've never seen before." That night, after Ron left, Jocelyn looked into one of her mirrors, and was horrified to discover that she had been rendered hideous by Nicole's curse. Jocelyn tried to call Nicole to beg her to remove the curse, only to learn that the salon had closed for the summer, and would not reopen until after Labor Day.

The Mirror of Truth is capable of duplicating anything that stands before it, creating a copy inherently identical in nature. The copy that is produced is automatically affiliated with the Underworld Army, with the sole exception of Dark Pit, who sides with no one due to the mirror shattering before the cloning process could complete.
As Pit travels through Pandora's Labyrinth of Deceit, he discovers that the goddess possesses an object called the Mirror of Truth, which has the potential of duplicating entire armies for Medusa. With the intention of destroying it, Pit confronts Pandora, who puts up a brief fight before giving up the mirror to him. Pit quickly runs and dropkicks the mirror, shattering it into pieces. However, in the process, the mirror clones Pit and creates his doppelgänger, Dark Pit.
Said to reveal the truth, this mirror is also thought to be used by Pandora to transform souls into Underworld monsters. Pit destroys it with a kick, accidentally bringing about the creation of Dark Pit in the process.
I have noticed it and while I usually avoid mirrors, I actually linger in front of this particular spot. I have believed its lies and thought that the scales and my tighter waistband must be kidding me.
As parents or faith leaders in our homes, we are called to live our faith in such a way that we mirror the person of Jesus to our loved ones. When we effectively mirror truth and trust, we see truth and trust mirrored back to us through our families. As parents, we are called to be the first teachers of our children (CCC 2201-2233). This exercise is just one simple way to learn scripture with our families and bring everyone closer to Christ.
An important note: please do not think that teaching your children means that you need to have all of the answers. Mirror the truth and trust that God has imprinted on your heart. Listen to God in your personal prayer time and seek his direction. Endeavor to fill your home with truth and trust, demonstrating love and patience with yourself and with your loved ones.
Norylska groans with the weight of her crimes. In a city where winter reigns amid the fires of industry and war, soot and snow conspire to conceal centuries of death and deception. Norylska groans, and the weight of a leaden sky threatens to crush her people. Katyusha Leonova, desperate to restore her family name, takes a job with Norylska's brutal police force. To support his family, Genndy Antonov finds work with a local crime syndicate. As bodies fall, the two discover a foul truth hidden beneath layers of deception and violence: Come the thaw, what was buried will be revealed.
The Mirror of Truth is a magical relic which can create perfect copies of the body and soul of all who walk through it. Medusa and Pandora planned to use it to make copies of all the monsters of the Underworld Army and also a copy of Pit to serve them. Luckily the mirror was destroyed by Pit, but not before it created Dark Pit out of Pit's dark side when he broke it.
What we think about ourselves matters.
Our self-image is who we think we are, and who we think we are affects what we do. How we see ourselves is a product of our past experiences, our current interactions, society's standards and values, and how we feel others perceive us. It is related to our self-worth, which is how much value we place on ourselves. If we have a distorted self-image, we will not have an accurate measure of our abilities and will be unable to fully utilize the gifts God has given us.
In The Truth in the Mirror, author and counselor Karla Downing focuses on the importance of accepting ourselves so we can be at peace with who God created us to be and learn to become all He intends us to be. Through educated insight and practical application, Downing shows us how to be set free from the residue of our pasts--the useless comparisons to others, incorrect images others have placed on us, the need to please people, and the inability to accept ourselves as we are. She points the way to experiencing a new sense of satisfaction and pleasure in becoming real, as we portray the image of Christ, and teaches us to learn to accept and love the truth that's there when we look in the mirror.

In that fam'd time, the age of gold,
When peace prevail'd in every land,
And simple Truth herself made bold
To rove at large with glass in hand,
Each in her mirror dar'd to trace,
Without a blush, his own true face.
Mirror of Truth is one of the pieces of the Treasure of Thundera. The mirror itself has a gold frame with the ThunderCats insignia on its back. As its name implies, the mirror has the ability to show the truth. The mirror eliminates any kind of disguise or illusion and reveals a person's true identity.
Along with the other pieces of the Treasure of Thundera, the mirror was also lost on New Thundera. In order to locate it, Mumm-Ra devised a clever scheme in which he first turned the adult ThunderCats into ThunderCubs. Then, disguising himself as Lion-O, Mumm-Ra ordered the ThunderCub Cheetara to use her sixth sense to locate the mirror. When the real Lion-O arrives, he tells the ThunderCubs to look into the Mirror of Truth and it shows them their adult forms as well as revealing Mumm-Ra's true identity.
To really look at yourself in this new mirror, on an average day or perhaps at a time of great joy or great sorrow, can be a complete revelation. Looking at it every day, meditating with who and what you see, can become a catalyst for spiritual growth and radical self-acceptance. In fact, you may realize some highly critical self-judgements are only visible in the traditional mirror. Your true self is a inherently more beautiful and acceptable being than your constructed self, however that has been formulated. The backwards mirror and its inauthentic reflection has been a key element in that formulation.
