Taarzan: The Wonder Car is a 2004 Bollywood action thriller film directed by Abbas-Mustan and produced by Gordhan Tanwani. The film stars Ajay Devgn, Vatsal Sheth, Ayesha Takia, Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal, Pankaj Dheer, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Shakti Kapoor, Mukesh Tiwari, Rajpal Yadav and Gulshan Grover. The film is inspired by the 1983 American film Christine, which was also about a car possessed by a spirit.
The plot of the film revolves around Raj (Vatsal Sheth), a young man who revamps his deceased father Deven's (Ajay Devgn) unfinished car project and names it Taarzan. The car comes alive as it is possessed by Deven's spirit, who was killed by his business partners for refusing to sell his revolutionary design. Taarzan helps Raj to woo Priya (Ayesha Takia), the daughter of one of the killers, and also takes revenge on the murderers one by one. Raj and Priya eventually fall in love and decide to expose the truth behind Deven's death. However, they face many obstacles from the villains, who want to destroy Taarzan and get rid of Raj and Priya.
The film was released on August 6, 2004 and received mixed reviews from critics and audiences. Some praised the film for its action sequences, special effects, music and performances, while others criticized it for its weak script, direction and logic. The film was a moderate success at the box office, earning Rs. 17 crore against a budget of Rs. 15 crore.
The film also spawned a video game titled Taarzan: The Wonder Car - The Game, which was released in 2005 for PlayStation 2 and PC. The game featured the same characters and plot as the film, but with more levels and challenges.
