It wouldn't; because unless the related registry entries were also removed, then as Toppack mentioned, the registry would fail to find the file and, in this instance at least, report an error. However as to why a Start Menu 8 uninstallation, computer restart, and re-installation of (perhaps a fresh download of) Start Menu 8 does not work, perhaps points to something else.

Upon the restart of your computer, when you get the error message, does it explicitly implicate Start Menu 8 as the culprit causing the error? Or simply state something along the line of "rtl120.bpl is missing" and provide no further info? (And I am assuming it is just a typo when you said you had looked but 'rtl.bpl' is not missing.)

And if the above is the case, then I wonder if another program, and not Start Menu 8, is causing the error. I just did a quick search on my Win8 OS and see that the file "rtl120.bpl" is installed under several IObit programs:

I did some digging myself and found that Advanced SystemCare 6 is also related to the error or that Advanced SystemCare 6 also includes that file. Since Start Menu 8 prompts us to install Advanced SystemCare 6 during the install process I went ahead and installed Advanced SystemCare 6 to see if it would clear the error but it did not help.

Hi evilfantasy... good to see you again! Reinstall the file from the below link to see if that solves. (it is a live link ) This particular Runtime file is incorporated into almost all Iobit softwares...

Yea I saw that post. I was hoping this may be a known issue and see if a fix may be coming. The last thing I expect to do when installing software is start applying fixes to make it work!

I was just thinking about something else you stated. You said this error message didn't happen until you updated to the most recent version. Out of curiosity, does the error still show when you uninstall the most recent and install the earlier version you had been using?

One of the changes that was made to the most recent version (v1.0.2.30 as of this date) is a name change from "StartMenu8" to "Start Menu 8", and with that name change comes a new path, and registry entries to reflect that new path: C:\Program Files (x86)\IObit\Start Menu 8\

I know you said that when you had uninstalled the version on your computer, you also manually searched for and cleaned out all related files and folders. But did the search and removal include both StartMenu8 and Start Menu 8 files and folders?

Additionally, you didn't yet mention if you also had searched the registry for and removed any related StartMenu8 and Start Menu 8 entries as well? (Either manually, sometimes preferred or necessary; or via a reputable registry cleaner/repair program.)

And once all the above is done, and having rebooted the computer, and installed the most recent version of Start Menu 8, v1.0.2.30 (found here), what is the end result of your time and effort (fingers tightly crossed)?

However since this annoying and persistent glitch continues, you didn't mention whether you have since tried using System Restore to go back to an earlier system restore point - to a point in time when you had that earlier version of StartMenu8 installed on your system, and all was working well? (To see if the error goes away and it works as advertised once again.)

The only remaining issue now is that Start Menu 8 is interfering with Object Dock. Upon startup I have to manually open the Object Dock settings and use the repair option to make it work. This only happens when I have Start Menu 8 installed. When I uninstall it Object Dock works as it should.

Not that I have found. I adjusted the settings in Start Menu 8 to see if maybe the "Deactivate Metro" options were also deactivating Object Dock but no change. Object Dock loads and is running I just can not get it to work without repairing it.

I upgraded to ASC 5, and shortly thereafter, lost the ability to eject hardware devices, such as flash drives. I also noticed that my printers had disappeared in system devices. I rolled back my WIndows 7 system 6 times until the system was back to normal.

In this thread, the member Danpoet is not the same as member Dingo(from the other thread)! Danpoet cannot post a bug report as the error does not stem from Gamebooster. In this case the error stems from ASC.

As Danpoet has not been back yet to view these posts (at the time of this post), we will have to wait and see if it (Enoskype's post) is the solution. Meanwhile I have offered it (Enoskype's possible solution) on the other thread that I linked to in my previous post.

I tried to extract the .bpl file as an administrator. The ASC program would not let me. However, i did notice that during the attempt the original file, and the replacement file had the exact same file size, creation date, etc., and were apparently identical.

Do you have an ASC program file for version four still on your machine? Sometimes it may be found in a different location. You can do a system search to find ASC folders. Delete any ASC folder for version 4 (assuming you have version 4 uninstalled). Then disable ASC service and see if you can extract (without re-boot).

The cause of your rtl120.bpl error was different than this one. rtl120.bpl is a CodeGear runtime library. In this case the file seems to be completely missing and arises by what I think is a corrupt installation of version 4 over 5, compounded possibly by the usage of System Restore multiple times.

I have the following problem. Trying to execute a .exe file on my Windows 10 system I obtain an error message that says that is impossible to run the program because the rtl120.bpl file is not on my computer and try to reintstall it.

Guys, I rarely make comments because in truth, the usually NEVER result in a positive outcome. People who WANT to continue doing what they're doing, do so any way... However, my frustration right now is trying to run Malwarebytes, a trusted source of mine, with iobit products, another "trusted" source of mine! I've even added their information in the "exclusions" tab, yet you continue to bring their products to your scan list every single time. Including the "exact" file listed in the exclusions.....

The only conclusion one can draw from such acts, is that you "absolutely" have a campaign against iobit products. As an IT professional, I've used their products almost since they first hit the internet around 2006 or so. As someone who is a military veteran, and a strong "anti-China" advocate, it might seem odd that I'm in support of this organization, but to date, there products have proven to be very effective and without incident. So why are so many antivirus, anti-malware companies attempting to thwart this great company?

I can imagine this is a very delicate subject. I'm very aware of the ongoing legal battles with some other entities, like AVG for example. But, I think enough is enough. So my question still stands in accordance with the actual topic here... Why are you still showing me these key files during a scan, when they are clearly listed in my exclusions preferences?

Thank you in advance for any "true comments" concerning this issue. Those who post irrelevant argument based upon their own personal like or dislike, will simply be ignored. I am looking for some kind of true explanation/justification for including their content in my scans.

Again, I am a big fan of Malwarebytes and will continue to be one. But, I am also a fan of Iobit and need to find some kind of common ground here. If you provide adequate information, that proves they are a threat, I'll gladly listen..

I'd like to thank those who have responded and am wondering why Malwarebytes or one of the professionals who represent this product has not responded. I know the delicate matter with this subject, but it's one that needs to be had. Both products will continue to have success and so both products will eventually need to learn how to coexist. That's the baseline of my concern here, and the fact I have to constantly pull out these files during a scan of my system, or my client's system.

Reinstall the previously detected PUP program if needed, then run a Scan. When the scan completes, uncheck the boxes next to all the detections. To uncheck all of them at once, click the uppermost box next to the column title of 'Threats'

Very interesting defensive posture... No one is saying they don't "detect" it... Perhaps you should reread the original post. It clearly states that I am asking "why" they continue to show back up once I've put them in the "Exclusions" category.......

With respect, I believe some responses here are just quickly browsing and dropping template answers without fully reading or comprehending the original post. Clearly my illustration shows they are "exclusions" and yet still showing up in scans.

There is no way to exclude registry keys via the Settings > Exclusions interface which is why I posted the instructions I have in Post #10. Please scroll up to see my reply (you and I had posted at the same time)
