Panjamugi Tamil Movie Review
Panjamugi (also known as Panchamukhi) is a 2010 Tamil-language supernatural thriller film directed by V. Samudra and starring Anushka Shetty in a dual role as Panchakshari and Honey, two women who look alike but have different personalities and destinies. The film is loosely based on the 2005 Telugu film Anukokunda Oka Roju, which itself was inspired by the 1997 Hollywood film The Long Kiss Goodnight.
The film revolves around the mysterious connection between Panchakshari, a devout village woman who is believed to be an incarnation of Goddess Durga, and Honey, a modern city girl who is unaware of her past. When Panchakshari dies in a fire accident, her husband Sriram (Samrat) and daughter Reshmi (Baby Aparna) are devastated. Sriram then meets Honey, who looks exactly like his deceased wife, and brings her to his village in hopes of curing his daughter's coma. However, Honey soon realizes that she is being haunted by Panchakshari's spirit, who wants to avenge her death and protect her family from the evil forces that are after the hidden treasure in the temple where she was born.
The film received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike. Some praised Anushka Shetty's performance in the dual role and the film's visual effects, while others criticized the film's weak script, poor editing, and lack of logic. The film was also dubbed into Telugu as Panchamukhi and into Hindi as Mera Badla - Revenge.
