Itrapped a max lv rex but I have to wait for it to regen health because it just fought 2 kentro (also high level), I tried to bring him an ankylo carcass and it doesn't eat it. Does it have to be smaller dino ?
If flyer is allowed I can just heal with my snow owl and be done with it quicker. Snow owl has been my goto ride whenever I want to tame something, can use its vision, can heal, decent weight and damage too, and it looks funny.
I see, but that's tek, meaning already beat whatever boss for it, also mean I already have an army for beating bosses while the one that needs it more and the most is before having said army for bosses, still taming lots of wild dinoes for better stats, and having this no flyer rule but not very consistent with it, desmodus is a flyer but allowed, so not allowing other flyers doesn't make the game difficult but annoying.
I'm now facing the same problem with therizino, I'm in Jotunheim right now but the thing with Desmodus is VERY annoying, it also hits/attacks everytime I put down a structure for trapping the theriz and it hits the therizino I'm trying to tame, seems like other dinoes don't do that. Very different when I am on Snow owl, I can just use snow owl for healing wild dino and get this done faster. It is down to 35% hp and I have to wait for it to heal. Geez, cmon, at least let snow owl in too. What's the point of the game having tons of dinoes if they are limited to use.
Things like Aberration I can understand it also restricts wild flyers, but these realms are contradicting themselves having flyer dinoes in it, it has airspace, but not allowing tamed flyers, and still contradicts the rule with desmodus. So it's actually not a 100% no flyer zone.
Healing wild dinoes is an important game mechanic that they need to fill if they create a condition like this no flyer zone. The game has it with snow owl, but geez, cant be used, I'm very annoyed with this no flyer rule creating problem without giving solution while it actually already has the solution but the solution is not allowed. Now I'm talking in circle because I still can't fathom that decision in this situation.
Desmodus seems kinda buggy or it could be my fault, this happens twice, it flies toward the dino I trapped (the wild dino is ofc attacking) sometimes attacking sometimes not, happened to the rex yesterday from 5k down to 3k hp that's why I gave up. it could also be my fault not realizing the desmodus on neutral but I always set flyers on passive and I often whistle passive at base at random. Just now it flew toward theriz and managed to attack once.
In the end tamed this theriz , down to 272 hp left, that's like 2 shots away from being dead. I hope there will be more ways to heal wild dinoes for ppl without that tek tool because we need to be able to tame at any situation too. And a game is more fun with more game mechanics in it.
Knocked down a megatherium, but well...the last hit seems to hit it after it's unconscious and ruin the taming effectiveness to 86%, I can wait until it wakes up and retame, but the Health is only 800 so I can't really tame it. One other game mechanic this game direly needs other than wild dino heal is to wake unconscious dino up faster. I ever tried using stimberry / stimulant, but they didn't work. That's another inconsistency that needs to be filled with game mechanics. A game can do things via game mechanics without it we can only think about it but cant really do it, would be nice if stimberry/stimulant works to wake up unconscious wild dino faster, it's relevant with all the other related game mechanics.
Even if it was bloody like that, they don't lose much hp from tranq darts, you could upgrade to the better darts or even a tek bow that u learn on gen2 like the phaser. That bow does very little damage on tranq setting. A max damage one is just about all I use to tame these days.
You can use the website, or install the app on your phone or tablet. You can then input the % on the weapons you have, and from there find out exactly the odds of killing the animal w/ that weapon, and how many hits it will take to down the animal.
For most animals, the darts w/ a long neck does less damage to the target. But this is not always the case(i think). IF you see a certain weapon has a higher % chance of killing a tame, you know for sure that weapon does more damage than the others for the purpose of taming.
I'm pretty sure you can get to 118 without ascending. You can reach 105 , then you can get another 5 levels getting a chibi to level 6, and then you can get 10 extra levels getting all the runes on Fjordur.
What I mean in this thread is that the wild dinoes in Asgard esp Rexes, they're mostly already hurt because Rex attacks everything, even against herbivores if they're high level, mate boosted, and there are several, even a high level rexes can still get hurt pretty badly, so doesn't matter what weapon I use, the remaining HP is just not enough to sustain him until I hit the torpor to full.
While outside of Asgard, I can use snow owl no matter how badly injured the wild dino is. But it doesn't matter anymore, I already found out The Center has the best spot for Rex spawn, even Tek Rex. So it doesn't matter anymore even if asgard only allows Lymantria lol.
Now I use Asgard for meat run. I miss the old days where wild dinoes spawn was sooo many anywhere I go, they were so everywhere. Now they're pretty spaced out and little number even in a big land like Asgard.
I don't have problem with xp though, I play on unofficial with boosted rate even tho it still takes time, the problem is, my level seems to stop at 100 when in Fjordur, I just tried making saddle and I didn't gain any xp anymore in fjordur. When I went to The Center the other day, my level went fast from 100 to 105 from killing rexes and alphas for making spawn slot for Tek Rex to spawn, but seems like it stops at 105 now. Until Chibi.
You might put in a bug report based on the leveling stopping at 100 on Fjordur. It should have gone up to 105, that is the new max level without any special extra achievement. Glad you found a workaround.
If only we had the phaser when we were on aberration. I played on officials, so we just had to make do at that time. At this point, we don't tame those things anymore. I already mutated the Anky hp up from 6500ish to 13,500ish, and Rainex finished up the melee on them to max for free for the entire official PVE community. I wasn't so nice, i made the players give me lots of tek ceilings for that hp.
That phaser pistol though is super super handy. Its an indispensable part of my tool kit at this point. And the tek bow, nothing beats the tek bow. But, it consumes element shards like we breathe air. Its not as *accessable on maps where element is more difficult to come by. For you without the bow, you can take your tranq darts and make them 2x more powerful on the sleepy juice by collecting the cnidaria toxin and turning them into shocking tranq darts. THe shocking darts will have a decay rate afterwards that you can slow down by putting them into fridges. They also don't decay at all if loaded into the weapon already. You can reclaim one from a loaded weapon and then restack your decaying stack onto it. This resets the decay timer for the stack. That's another little hack players use to keep their investment from decaying away.
