Subject: "Calculus: The Musical!" in Nevada!
To: Sadie Bowman <sbo...@knowtheatre.com>

Greetings!

My name is Sadie Bowman and I'm contacting you from Know Theatre of Cincinnati, OH. We are pleased to be producing a nationally touring production of Matheatre's "Calculus: The Musical!"

Written by a high school math teacher, "Calculus: The Musical!" is a 50-minute comic "review" of the concepts and history of Calculus. Using musical parodies that span genres from light opera to hip-hop, the quest for the instantaneous rate of change and the area under the curve comes to life--through song! For further information about the show I invite you to peruse www.calculusthemusical.com.

I am excited to let you know that our national tour has expanded and will be available for the first time ever to Nevada schools and institutions in mid-March of this year. Please contact me if you're interested in information about bringing this (dy)namic event to your students! We can come to any college, school or university.

Please feel free to forward this message along to any of your colleagues who may find it of interest, and don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions. I thank you for your time, and I hope to hear from you!

Best,
Sadie Bowman

Students' reactions have included:

"Not only am I back to smiling and even laughing during the studying process, but I remember things because of these songs..." (Nashville, TN)

While teachers' remarks have ranged from:

"It made the concepts click for some students and reinforced it for those that already understood them well. After the show, we were able to discuss the topics and students asked about those concepts we hadn't covered...It really made an impact on their enthusiasm for Calculus."
(St. Louis, MO)

To, quite simply:

"My students could not help bursting out into song during the show."
(Boulder, CO)

If we can get funding to have this here as a school event, that would be great.
I'd also like to see if we can get funding for bi-monthly or monthly pizza parties in which we bring in hiring managers that need math majors to discuss what type of people they are looking for.
We could hold these events as not just Math-club exclusive, but school-events.
