Butwhy is the cube interior only available in light gray or (in the car I drove) off-black? The VW Beetle, Chrysler PT Cruiser, and (to a lesser extent) Kia Soul all offer vibrant color inside the car. Nissan offers colorful vent surrounds as dealer-installed accessories, but these hardly compensate for the overwhelming colorlessness of the rest of the interior.

I go often to a certain city and rent different cars to get around. I do the same route every time and there is a tight double curve portion of the road where I have compared a lot of cars. I can tell you this:I have had to hit the brakes on a mustang but not on the cube going the same speed.

Amazing how things turned out: -disliked-cars.fortune/10.html...The Cube went on sale in May 2009 and since then has suffered an acute case of design decay, i.e, the novelty car blues. Its edgy styling -- pun intended -- hasn't worn well with buyers, and its sales have fallen to a trickle. The Cube's performance is especially glaring when compared with the similarly rhomboid Kia Soul, which is attracting far more buyers in its third year on the market as it outsells the Cube six to one. Still, Nissan is betting on a surge in gas prices for the Cube to turn the corner.

2014 Nissan Cube vs. 2014 Scion xBIn the past, if you wanted a nice family-friendly vehicle your options were very limited. Consumers had the option of either getting a large gas-guzzling SUV or a mini van. However, the times have changed and consumers have a lot more options today, like the Nissan Cube for example. The Cube is a favorite among Nissan fans. People often compare the Cube with the Scion xB because they have similar styling. So everyone here at Matt Castrucci Nissan Dayton OH thought that it would be fun to do a 2014 Nissan Cube vs. 2014 Scion xB comparison review.

The interior of the Nissan Cube is where this vehicle really shines and separates itself from the competition. They have put a lot of personal touches on the Cube that make it very unique. The ceiling of the cube actually has a design in it that is inspired by a raindrop. Even though the Cube is boxy looking on its exterior they made the interior look completely rounded and curvy. The Scion xB does have some notable interior features as well, such a standard touch screen monitor. However, we still believe that the Cube wins in this category because of how unique and innovative the interior is.

NAPERVILLE, Ill., Oct. 31, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- There is little doubt left in people's minds that Scion has almost cornered the market on uniquely designed vehicles that stand out in a crowd and conservatively be referred to as "a little left of center." The Scion xB available at Scion of Naperville does have one fairly close competitor in that department in the form of the Nissan Cube. Both vehicles feature similarly esoteric styling that appeal to a certain type of buyer that values utility as much as being a little different. While it may be forgivable in some circles to think that the Scion xB and Nissan Cube may be sibling vehicles, vague resemblances is where the similarities end in very matter of factly.

On just about every measurable metric, the Scion xB outdoes the offerings brought forward from the Nissan Cube. The Scion xB has a bigger engine, a 2.4-liter, inline four-cylinder that produces 158-horsepower. For comparison's sake, the Nissan Cube is powered by a 1.8-liter, four-cylinder engine that has a maximum output of 122-horsepower. The xB also benefits from being able to highly customizable thanks to an extensive catalogue available from Scion. xB owners can pick out so many different available elements that it is almost guaranteed that no two versions will be identical.

Since both of these vehicles fancy themselves capable, though compact, cargo movers comparing each one's available cargo space all but closes the door on the Nissan Cube vs. the Scion xB. The five-passenger Scion xB has room for 21 cubic-feet of cargo. When the rear row of seats is folded down, that space really expands quickly to open up 70 cu.-ft. The Nissan cube, on the other hand, offers just more than 11 cubic-feet of space with all seats occupied and 58 cu.-ft. with the rear seat stowed away.

The entire Scion of Naperville inventory can be viewed at www.scionofnaperville.com. Their showroom is located 1488 West Ogden Avenue, Naperville, IL, 60540. Anyone with questions regarding the available of the Scion xB or any of the choices of vehicles at Scion of Naperville should call 855-315-0609. Scion of Naperville also offers an excellent inventory of used cars for sale in Naperville, IL.

The cube-like xB has very good space efficiency and a roomy interior. The low floor and high roof make access almost as easy as walking into the next room. Handling is fairly nimble. Good visibility and compact dimensions make the xB a great city car. However, on a long highway drive, its choppy ride and high levels of wind noise can be somewhat fatiguing. In our testing, the automatic transmission xB got 30 mpg, and the manual version got 32 mpg. Electronic stability control was standard from the first year, which is rather impressive for such an inexpensive car.
