This is for Mack's upcoming retirement:

I am putting together a consortium as a gift for my father’s retirement.  The piece is a bass trombone and piano work by Jim Stephenson called “The Arch” that will have the piano part orchestrated for symphonic winds.  Thus, a bass trombone and winds work written specifically in Dad’s honor.  Originally written for Gerry Pagano of the St. Louis Symphony, the work is roughly 18 minutes, will be about a grade 4-ish and as you could probably guess, an arch form.

The buy-in is $500 per organization.  It would mean a great deal to Dad if he saw that a group of his former students had collectively donated towards this project.

We are looking for seven organizations to participate in the consortium, but the more the merrier!  So far we have Drake, Indiana, San Jose State, Pacific University (Oregon), and would like to have Dennis Fisher at North Texas and Tim Salzman at Washington join as well.  I have also asked Steve Martin to see if the members of the Reno Wind Symphony would like to donate towards the project as well.

Take care,
Grady

 Hey All-

This is a wonderful thing.

Kathy and I would like to contribute to this as individuals, and also as part of our sections if other people are into that route..
If you aren't sure, that's Flags for Kathy and Tubas for me.

Let me know what to do!
Cheers,
Fred Steinle

I am currently working out arrangements for Steve Martin to collect funds on behalf of the Alumni Band for our portion of the cost of this piece.  The Alumni Band will be invoiced for $500.  There is also the option of making individual donations.  If an individual donates $250 or more, his/her name will be listed on the score.
