Thanks for posting the idea. There's no effort to standardize the
replication "protocol" in CouchDB. It is a topic, though, that I'm
sure would interest many CouchDB users and devs. I'd recommend asking
about it at one of the CouchDB community lists:

PouchDB is an effort to build a replication-compatible data store
(wrapped around IndexedDB) to allow one to replicate CouchDB docs in
and out of a browser. It'll likely be the first project to completely
replicate the replication protocol. :)
