Hi everyone,

Although Google Groups has served us well over the years, it’s started to lose some essential abilities and it’s looking a little long in the tooth for a community of our nature.

We have decided that it would be of the benefit to the community to migrate to Github Discussions.

Naturally, an empty Discussions tab isn’t the nicest thing to see when evaluating a project, so we are going to be importing the most recent of our discussions on Google Groups into GitHub Discussions.

This has been posted to Github Discussions already, but if you’re currently watching the Unpoly repository on Github, you may wish to temporarily unwatch, as our import process will generate a fair number of notifications (possibly 75 or more).

The benefits of moving to Github Discussions are numerous, but at a glance, we look forward to having better syntax highlighting (which was actually removed from Google Groups), marking comments as answers, flagging threads as Answered, and many more.

This group will remain available, but we will be disabling posting in the future, and will treat it as a read-only archive of potentially past discussions.

Stay tuned for the migration announcement, and we hope to see you in Github Discussions!

Regards,

The Unpoly Team

Hi everyone,

This migration will be happening tomorrow, Wednesday July 7th. If you don't wish to receive ~ 75 GitHub notifications, I encourage you to temporarily unwatch the unpoly/unpoly repository.

Hi everyone,

The move to Github Discussions is now complete.

If you had unwatched unpoly/unpoly in advance of the move, you can safely re-watch without risk of inbox overload.

If you're not yet watching the repository, I encourage you to do so. There are a few different options for notifications, so if you're only interested in Releases and Discussions as you would have received here, it's possible using the Custom setting when watching.

This Google Group will be left as an archive and closed to new posts.

See you on Github!

Adam
