Just to put it in the group's archive, if you're using the VirtuoseAPI and C++, it's worth your time to look at https://github.com/vancegroup/wrap-vpp which contains an object-oriented, header-only wrapper for the Virtuose API. The README there contains more information that I won't repeat here.
