Has FTM 2010 been released

Just wondering if there is a new version of Family Tree Maker, 2010:
In the Ancestry Store one may purchase a 2010 upgrade. Here is the

The particular item of interest is a post after the article by Dick
Eastman which states ".... A few hours after I published that article,
a spokesperson from The Generations Network (publishers of Family Tree
Maker) sent me a message and confirmed that it could not possibly be
Family Tree Maker 2010 as the program hasn't even been sent to the
beta testers yet. . . ". Dated 23 Jun 2009.

It would seem that the 2010 upgrade in the Ancestry Store must be an
error of some type. If 2010 was not even in Beta on 23 Jun; it would
be virtually impossible to have an existing upgrade.

Okay folks, someone else explained it to me. In the Ancestry store it
says presell. Not sure why one would want to purchase a program that is
probably just now in beta testing, but what do I know?

For the same reason that you can buy books at Amazon that haven't
actually been published yet. When they are eventually published,
you're the first to receive one.
