The best way I have found to get around the Vista problems is to download from the web search inside of Family Tree Maker 2008/2009.

It is so nice to see Dear Myrt here with us.

I do love using Ancestry.com from home.
I only wish I could still download images, but thier image manager does not
like my Vista.
I know there is a way around it, but have searched a lot online and many
folks have that problem.
I fixed it once but it did not stay fixed.

I have FTM 2006, from what I have heard I don't want 2008.

THIS is the reason we have message boards and mailing lists - TO SHARE
HOW TO DO SOMETHING -- like get around the quirks of using a website
with the challenges posed by Microsoft's Vista. THANKS Jennifer.

Is there no other way to get around this problem other than having to
use FTM 2008/09?

My primary software is RootsMagic.
I only keep FTM for some of their charts and to try to help others who are using FTM.

I don't have a problem downloading images using Vista. What am I
doing right? I am not using FTM when I download.

Are you using an Internet Security program?
Ancestry and Norton don't get along.
