The calculator in FTM2009 does not work as it did in FTM16.  There is a 3rd party involved in the calculation which is making it impossible for me to find a true relationship between my mother and a new relative I've just found.  The RC adds a third person to the calculation for example that person's father which turns them into brother and sister and in reality they are at least 1st cousins ?times removed.  Are there any helpful suggestions out there please.

This question is off topic for this list; however since we are not very
busy anyone that knows the answer feel free to reply. If our list
becomes busy, off topic discussions will become more of an issue. Family
Tree Maker questions should relate to the programs interaction with
Ancestry.com. The FTM-tech list exists on Rootsweb for discussion of the
Family Tree Maker program. There is also a list on GenForum.

Apologies Beth. I thought UAG was created to take the place of FTM-TECH
which will soon be extinct. Would it be possible to list what is and is not
acceptable topics on your new site.

Hi Alice,
FTM-Tech is alive and well, no extinction in site.

It was the original list Beth created for Ancestry questions (subscriptions,
etc) that was removed and replaced with the new great one !

Thank you Alice, there does seem to be some confusion. The FTM-Tech list
is not scheduled for elimination. The newly created list ancestrycom on
Rootsweb has ceased to exist. That is why I started this list on Google.

The purpose of this list is stated as:
> For the discussion of topics relating to the genealogy subscription
> service Ancestry. . .
>
>
So there are many questions regarding FTM and Ancestry that would apply
to this list and I welcome those. The same company owns Ancestry.com and
Family Tree Maker but the FTM-Tech list and the list on GenForum serves
the purpose of answering questions about Family Tree Maker in general.

Warmest regards, Beth Gay, List Administrator

Wow, now I am more confused than before. I never subscribed to ancestrycom
on Rootsweb so wonder why I received the notice. Anyway, what is your List
all about and what topics do you cover?
