Your Ancestry DNA group may disappear

I am a member of 2 DNA groups on Ancestry. Well, one has disappeared. According to Ancestry help via telephone the creator of an Ancestry DNA group may dismantle the group. That is exactly what happened to one of my groups. I have corresponded with the creator of this group and requested that he restore the group. However, if he does not agree then the results or no longer viewable as for as I can ascertain. Were any of you aware that your group could just evaporate? You may still search and receive a list but I did not find any access data to contact the members or their results.
