Since networking is the best way to find others who are active
researchers, by all means show the members list.

I was under the impression that this List was obsolete as I haven't received
any e'mail from this List for weeks until this one from you today. What is
the status of this List? Anyone?

The status is that it's still up and running. Just not much traffic
at the moment.
I suspect that traffic on this list will be a direct function of the
frequency with which Ancestry does something that people find.

Looks like I dropped a stitch in that last message. here's what I
intended:

I seem to recall that was precisely what this List was not intended to be -
a site for complaints.

Just reflecting on what I think is likely to drive postings.
But no, its not, as I understand it, a place to trash Ancestry.

I personally think Ancestry is an outstanding source of information.
I use it often.
I also find their approach to serving the member community sometimes
inscrutable and perhaps not in their own best interest.

Perhaps Beth's caution that "This group is not to be used for Ancestry
bashing. If you have a specific complaint that is fine; but I am not
creating the group to discuss
why I hate Ancestry, etc." may be the reason this List has not taken off.
Perhaps there are more complaints than there are persons wanting to learn
how to use FTM2009. Just a thought.

In contrast, the FTW-tech List has also been very quiet of late. So does
that mean Ancestry customers have no complaints or maybe the weather is just
too nice ;-)
