i don't get it, the career mode is so frustrating to win, i go from first to tenth in a second and has nothing to do with skill its just luck if you came first. I play on 2,000cc btw (even tried 1,000cc)and i get spammed with seeker bubbles or other cars getting teleported way in front of me. Does anyone else have this problem? because codemasters is really starting to annoy me with the difficulty

ok well i have trid playing it again and again and i can easily say this game is frustrating. Funny cause at my local jb hi fi, they have the game available to play and it is very easy to win then, but when i try the game on my tv, i would be lucky to come in the top five. Honestly i don't understand why that happens, even on 1,000cc the other racers go at the same speed at you so have to rely on powerups which are useless unless u r coming last (which is unfair if u r coming first since the last one just teleports in front of you). Seriously its almost like codemasters don't care about their customers and we would be lucky to get a difficulty patch unless this game sold well- which i doubt

Can't say i'm having as much frustrations as some people! My only hint would be to try using Vettel or Webber for their slipstream boost! Handy as an extra powerup when not in 1st! Other than that just make sure you take all the shortcuts!

Ok well i have done every event in career mode except one and the game has gotten slightly easier (or maybe i just got a little bit better), but i am having trouble with the exhibition expo event (the one where u get badges to score) - does anyone have some tips about that event?

I'm convinced this game is stuck on 3000cc. I've noticed that on 3000cc the other drivers all get perfect starts. But just occasionally none of them do. When they don't, the races are really easy to win. So I'm sure even if you set it to 1000cc it's somehow glitched and starts on 3000cc.

Had high hopes for this after the demo. But it's just to infuriating to be played as a fun game. If I had a pound for every time I've been first for 95% of the race then on the last corner come in at 5th or worse, Ide be a rich man indeed. Bloody game! lol

Same problem here. Playing on PS3 though. Did the first few events without a problem, now I seriously for the life of me can't finish 1st. Whatever I do, I just can't. I either get blasted with power ups, or they somehow boost right up in front of me in the last 200 meters or so. Also funny how the AI always get the beginning boost. I mean, it's easy to get the beginning boost, but it would've been better if the AI somehow failed at some points.

I did the first 2 events on 1000cc and tried 3000cc afterwards. Seems it got actually stuck on 3000cc. Deleted my save file and started over and now I can easily win. Some of the AI don't even use the starting boost on 1000cc. Previously, all of them used the starting boost. It seems if you decide to switch to 3000cc at some point, and go back, it might glitch and keep the difficulty on 3000cc no matter what difficulty you choose afterwards.

4) if you are in first place and hit a powerup keep it if its a Bubble or a Ricochet bubble, these come in handy when a Homing bubble comes after you, look behind you when its fairly close and use your power up (remember you can fire ricochet bubbles backwards!) This can save you from damaging your car but also from dropping places.

My biggest issue is the career. One prime example of this is the 18th one - in which there are no power ups. Regardless of engine size, it's virtually impossible to get past any racer. They all follow the EXACT same line, and never lose damage to their car (unless you phyically hit them). Therefore, if you're last, you can never win.

The biggest problem i had at first was treating it like a Mario Kart game. It looks the same acts the same but is very diffrent. If you know at least this it makes it alot easier. But still some of the short cuts are to good to miss

That is the exact way I felt. I actually bought the cheap when it first became cheap and just quit 2 or 3 cups in. However, I found it for $10 recently and thought about giving it a second chance. Trust me, once the KERS system and jump boosts become second nature, it is all about those moments of that scandalous AI ripping you off.

These took me a while to figure out. First, slipstream like nobody's business. You may not get Vettel or Webber's power-up, but you will still gain momentum like in real life. The most important thing to avoid getting hit. The settings for most of those for damage are "Fragile" if I remember. Also, do NOT bump other vehicles. When your car is damaged - I mean sparking, you go much slower. Of course clipping your apexes, using KERS to maximum, and all of that good stuff helps too. :-)

To create a good kart racer you need a few key ingredients. The first is an outlandish interpretation of your source. Race Stars does this by taking the likenesses of several professional drivers, and crafting them into smaller, cartoon-like versions of themselves. They have bouncing helmets before races, wink and nod at each other and simply have an embellished feel. This also transfers over to the tracks. Each one has its own setting and is exaggerated on almost every level. Giant monuments and structures abound. Loops litter tracks along with boost pads and plenty of color. This game is definitely bright and cheerful all the time.

Like any good kart racing game, you also have power-ups to attack other players with. It feels a bit contrived with Race Stars though. Instead of interesting things like oil slicks or lightning bolts, we get bubbles. You heard me right, bubbles. Granted they are different colored bubbles with boosts and balloons thrown in for good measure. Basically, due to some restriction from F1 or who knows what, all of your attacks are different colored bubbles. The red ones are homing, the yellow bounce around the track, and the blue ones go behind you like banana peels in Mario Kart.

When I did my gold times run, none of my times saved, only the DLC ones and that one AUS did. I did that 1k AUS run before I even knew how to do KERS corners properly, so it's an easy time to beat once you take the shortcut too. I'm not sure why but I just tried again and it won't let me save any times.

Make sure you press and let go of R2 3 times in each KERS corner, take the hard right along the wooden boards near the beginning, and take the massive jump to the right in the tram section midway through.

I finaly managed to overcome my troubles with this trophy, so my tip for Ecto-win trophy in 2021:
when trying to beat time of your friend (or your alt-account) - do it on your FIRST ATTEMPT/LAP! The regular manual uploads no longer work and result in error, only top1000 results get uploaded after finishing time trials (as of October 2021). So your friends time should be in the top1000 leaderboard, preferably in the lower portion of it, for ease of beating. It should be displayed in a small table after choosing class and track. Also when starting the race You should get a notification "Friendname's ghost failed to download". Its all fine as long as you beat his Top1000 score on the first try. Otherwise your own local ghost will be saved and all later attempts in same track and class will be against yourself (message at the start "Yourname ghost failed to download") and trophy will not pop even if you make an improvement. If you fail your first try/lap - pause the game and quit immediately via PS button and NOT the "Finish session". DO NOT race against your own ghost. If you do not have friends with time in top1000, make an alt account and set a time in the very tail end of that leaderboard. Good luck!

- You can still post a time on the leaderboard even if the game says ghost upload failed. The Leaderboard seems to go down only to around 590 people so you have to post a lap time first with an alt better than the last person if you don't have any friend scores.

- You don't have to press for Leaderboards or select any ghost, just wait on this screen down below a little bit, and if your friends posted a time it will show up. Each class 1000-2000-3000 cc) leaderboard is different try to switch first if you can't find any friends.
