Dear Rasika,

Over the years Trichur Brothers have become a household name in the world of Carnatic music, drawing rasikas in large numbers wherever they perform. Their appeal lies in many things: a deeply traditional approach, thoughtful choices of ragas and compositions, impeccable voice alignment, and above all, the infectious joy they radiate on stage — a joy that effortlessly reaches every corner of the audience.

Yesterday’s concert was yet another gem from the ever-reliable cupboard of the Trichur Brothers. With every piece, they reaffirmed why they continue to occupy a special place in the hearts of music lovers. The concert was a seamless blend of classicism and creative energy, leaving the audience with a sense of deep musical fulfillment.

Young Vishwesh on the violin played with precision and poise, his calm presence adding both musical depth and visual warmth to the stage. Trichur Sri. Mohan’s understated yet assured mridangam playing lent a quiet strength that effortlessly anchored the concert. Sri. Sunil Kumar on the kanjeera impressed with his vibrant presence — a promising talent clearly here to stay.

It was an evening that reminded us of how tradition when handled with joy and sincerity becomes timeless.
