Dear Rasika,
Smt. Sudha Raghunathan has been adorning our stage for over three decades, and each time she has unfailingly enthralled the rasikas. Her music transcends generations, appealing equally to seasoned connoisseurs and younger listeners. An inspiration to many and a true ambassador for our country, she continues to amaze us with her consistency and artistry. Yesterday's concert was yet another gem in the bouquet of jewels she has gifted us over the years.
On the violin, Sri Embar Kannan provided admirable support, his sensitive accompaniment enhancing every nuance of her presentation. The chitta swaram in Kunthalavarali – Kuni Kunilo was a highlight, being his thoughtful contribution. Neyveli Sri Skandasubramanium was a faithful and energetic presence on the mridangam, giving the concert the right drive and momentum. Adding to the rhythmic tapestry, Sri Narayanmurthy on the ghatam played with great understanding and subtlety, making his presence amply felt.
Smt. Sudha’s concert yesterday was a fine reminder of her enduring artistry and the elegance she brings to the stage every time she performs.
