Dear Rasika,
Sri Vishnudev Namboodiri, a promising young artiste blessed with a gifted voice rich in power and steeped in Carnatic tradition, delivered a thoroughly engaging concert. His presentation featured a fine array of ragas and popular compositions, keeping the audience deeply engaged—who had gathered in good numbers to witness his maiden appearance on the Gokulashtami stage. Expectations were high, and he more than fulfilled them, sending rasikas home delighted.
The accompaniments for the evening were a team of stalwarts. On the violin, Mysore Sri Shrikanth played with finesse, his exquisite tonal quality and sensitive support adding immense value to the concert. On the mridangam, Dr. Thiruvarur Bhakthavatsalam was irresistible with his energetic and masterful strokes ensuring there was not a dull moment, Sri Guru Prasanna on the kanjira matched the maestro beautifully, making for a perfect rhythmic combination and shining in a brilliant thani avarthanam.
