Dear Rasika,
The 21st day of the Gokulashtami celebrations began on a divine note with the chanting of the Sampoorna Narayaneeyam, led with devotion and dedication by Smt. Mala Ramakrishnan and her team.
In the evening, the stage came alive with a Carnatic music concert by Sri. Dhanush, a promising young talent who impressed the audience with his melodious voice and commendable patantharam. He was ably supported by Sri. Vaibhav Ramani on the violin and the enthusiastic Sri. Pranav Subramanya on the mridangam, both of whom enriched the concert with their artistry.
The highlight of the evening was the enthralling Villu Pattu by the team led by Smt. Bharathi Tirumagan. This traditional folk art, which seamlessly blends music, storytelling, and dramatics, was presented with the theme “Villisaiyil Sri Krishna.” The narrative beautifully brought out the devotion of six great Krishna bhaktas, each portrayed by Smt. Bharathi with depth and feeling. The performance was not only entertaining but also a reminder of the need to nurture and bring such invaluable art forms into the mainstream.
The team’s energy and creativity kept the audience deeply engaged, with Sri. Kalaimagan’s sparkling contribution receiving special appreciation. The program was refreshing, unique, and left an indelible impression on everyone present.
