UNN-USA VERY IMPORTANT UPDATES - PLEASE READ FULLY

UNN-USA LEADERSHIP/LIONS AND LIONESSES;
PLEASE TREAT WITH HIGH PRIORITY THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:

1. Please, do not wait for the time to get here before sending in your adverts and congratulatory messages to me and to Nneka Ike, the President of the Hosting Houston Chapter. A stitch in time saves twenty!!! We will strictly adhere to all deadlines.

2. Please, buy you ticket yesterday, if possible. SWA is very cheap now. Dates are Thursday the 13th, Friday the 14th, Saturday the 15th, Sunday the 16th, Monday will be the 17th of October, 2016. Spirit Airline is not bad if you have only hand luggage.

3.  Please, we need every ONE to think of a THEME of the Convention in Houston. We also need a Chief Launcher [CL] and Keynote Speaker [KS], which can be one person; should be the same person. These needs are not only for the Convention Committee but for all of us to help. If we do not get a CL, then we all will have to do an Alumni/"Church" collection.

4. We need to volunteer or suggest the 2017 Convention Hosting. I suggest Las Vegas for our tenth year anniversary. Or we may simply return to Atlanta where we started and celebrate our ten years. What do you think?

5. Each Committee should prepare their progress report for publication in our brochure. Accounting should also be published in the brochure by the executive. Last Convention communique should also be published in this year's Convention.

6. BOARD ANNOUNCEMENT - ELECTION YEAR -
    All executive positions are up for grab. Please, contact the electoral committee to express your interest in running  for any position: National President, National Vice President, National Secretary and Assistant Secretary, National Financial Secretary, National Treasurer, National Legal Adviser is by Board Appointment, I think, etc, any other. I am not sure about the Board election and when it is due. I am therefore leaving it up to the Board to give us the policies to follow in all elections.

The Electoral Committee was constituted at the Board meeting held on September 20, 2015. The board had a quorum with the following in attendance (Refer to minutes issued by Winifred):

1. Nick Muoneke

2. Paul Amuchie

3. Winifred Nweke

4. Mike Okoroafor.

(Jonathan Okpukpara was not able to attend).

Just to refresh your memory, the members of the Electoral Committee were:

1. Charmaine Emelife(Chair)

2. Oliver Ibe &

3. Amaka Akudinobi

They were duly informed late last year following phone conversations to gain their respective commitments. I believe that they are in the process of issuing guidelines for the elections.

No additional Board action is needed at this time.  We should let the electoral committee fulfill their obligations under the UNN-USA by-laws.
