Hello everyone!
I would like to test for multicollinearity in my covariates. For example two of my covariates are "habitat" (e.g. woodland, grassland, and moorland) and "vegetation cover" (i.e. percentage of vegetation cover within a 10 m radius from my camera traps). Habitat is categorical and vegetation cover is numerical/continuous. Is there a way to test for multicollinearity in this case? Ideally, I would like to do this before fitting my occupancy models - so that I can select which variables should be included in my models. Can I use VIF in this case?
