I had this problem with Quicktime, it does not record screen audio output but only what is picked up by the built-in microphone. So if I put on a YouTube video and use Mac Speakers, the built-in microphone picks it up. If I use Airpods for speaker and microphone, and set audio so system or Airpods, it does not record the video output. I solved this by installing an third party plug-in BlackHole 16ch, which is a hack to allow recording of audio output and not just what the microphone picks up.
I've recently upgraded to Windows 11 and I'm encountering some difficulties with a task that I think many of you might have experience with. Specifically, I'm trying to figure out how to record my screen on Windows 11 with sound. While I've found the built-in screen recording tool in Windows 11 to be quite straightforward for capturing video, I'm struggling to include audio in my recordings.
I've done some basic troubleshooting like checking my microphone and system sound settings, but I haven't had much luck so far. It's crucial for my work to create high-quality screen recordings that include both the screen activity and the accompanying audio, so any advice, tips, or recommendations from this community would be greatly appreciated.
PowerPoint's screen recording tool is integrated into the application, eliminating the need for third-party software for screen capture. This feature is particularly useful for educators, trainers, and professionals who want to create engaging presentations that include demonstrations, tutorials, or walkthroughs of software applications. You can record your entire screen or select specific areas to capture, and you also have the option to record audio from your microphone and the system audio.
Recording your screen on Windows 11 with sound can be accomplished by using the built-in tool, Snipping Tool, which has been updated to include screen recording features. First, ensure that your system's sound settings are properly configured to capture the audio you intend to record, whether it's system sounds, microphone input, or both.
To start, open the Snipping Tool from the Start menu or by searching for it. In the Snipping Tool's interface, you'll find an option to switch from image capture mode to screen recording mode. Before you begin recording, you can choose the audio source you want to include in your recording via the app's settings. Ensure the correct audio source is selected to capture the sound accompanying your screen recording.
Once you're ready to record, select the area of the screen you wish to capture or choose to record the full screen. Then, click the record button to start capturing both your screen and the selected audio. The Snipping Tool allows you to pause and resume the recording as needed, giving you flexibility in what you capture.
After you've finished recording, you can stop the recording, and the file will be automatically saved to your chosen location. The Snipping Tool also provides basic options for trimming your video before saving, allowing you to remove unwanted sections from the beginning or end of your recording. This built-in functionality in Windows 11 makes it convenient and straightforward to record your screen with sound without the need for additional software.
@Smithchow& many others, pls don't fall for these kind of Clickbaits! @Smithchow was saved that this wasn't a virus! I've seen people get scammed because of this! For example, last month, my best friend's dad download a software for recording his meetings. It was something like "TunesRecorder Pro". First of all, if the software requires you to give it administrative privileges EVERY time you launch it, I give you a 99.999% guarantee it's a virus. It's the MOST sus sign of ANY software possibly being a Trojan Horse! And I'm telling you... They can mess up your device REAL DEEP... As deep as your BIOS! So never ever "TRUST" anything. Even if it's a HUGE company like Microsoft or Apple, DO NOT TRUST THEM STRAIGHT AWAY!
If you need a screen recording software, just press Win+G. It will open Xbox Game Bar. Now in the "Capture" window, click the white dot option. Now just press any key & it will start recording.
@Anushtabh_Pateria Same experience here. I got a virus that hijacked my Chrome browser. Whenever I search for something, it led me to some ad pages. And it's very hard to remove the virus. I then had to reinstall Windows 11. I never trust any free tools now except open sources which are difficult to use for average people : (. Then, I bought the tool named ease us. Quite expensive but I'm assured. Here is an article I found this brand wrote -the Power Point way is quit easy if the third party recording software won't be a choice.
I am referring to audio recorded when playing on sd card playback video. Actually, when I took out SD card and played back footage on my computer no audio was recorded onto SD card. This suggests audio function has been disabled to record onto SD card.
When cameras are live, audio is fine. When I record from live feed, audio is fine. However, when I hit playback and start recording from sd card, no audio is heard. Also, during playback of the recorded footage there is no audio. My conclusion, I believe the sd card audio record mode has been disabled on my FLOODLIGHT camv3 by Wyze.
Since the audio plays on the phone when you are viewing the Playback video directly from the SD Card mounted in the cam, the cam is recording audio with the video and saving it on the SD Card. Otherwise you would also have no sound in your SD Card Playback in the App.
However, when you play that MP4 SD Card Video while mounted in an external reader, or when you Record the video and save it to your phone and then try to play that video in a 3rd party app player, no audio is heard.
My point, I AM NOT GETTING SOUND RECORDINGS ONTO MY SD CARDS in my floodlight camv3s. I know this to be true because no audio is on my sd card when I play it on my computer. Also, when I record straight from the sd card via my phone, there is video but no audio in playback mode.
Why you may ask: In the past I have had an issue where the toggle showed one thing and in reality the other was true. I found out because I have multiple phones and use Android and iOS. iOS would show something as on Android would show it off. Once I reset it, everything was fine.
I have Linux (ubuntu). And I would like to record a sound. Does anybody know how to do it? I tried to use "Sound Recorder" program which I found in "Sound & Video" menu. First I press "Record". In several seconds I press "Stop". After that the whole window becomes dark and program does not respond. Does anybody know why it happens and how this problem can be solved?
As a simple audio recording software there is Krecorder but that is not package on many distributions.Else you have Kwave which can record, play back, import and edit many sorts of audio files including multi channel files. It's a bit more complete and is a Qt alternative to Audacity.
since then, i have totally deleted my account, deleted all add ons (i believe), and downloaded an earlier 2020 version, but it still is not working. i click the record button, it times what would be the recording length, i go to play this recording as i go to review the card, and there is no sound at all. as though the play and record button are just empty buttons.
Dae- I could kiss you. this is after deleting and redownloading anki an insane number of times, deleting all my decks, erasing my account etc and still not being able to solve this. in the end, it was my mac that conspired against me.
Cam Plus will record and notify SOUND EVENTS on the V3 so I would think it would work on an Outdoor V2 on Cam Plus. The screenshot you posted has a cooldown period of 5 min. ? Is that camera not on Cam Plus? Maybe @IEatBeans or another user will know if sound works on the outdoor V2.
Hi there. Would the Wyze Team consider having enabling sound detection as part of rules that can be selected for existing Wyze Cam v4 as well as the Wyze Batter Cam to add for either Home or Away Modes?
I'm attempting to create a "Record Screen" Replay project but running into issues with audio. I want to record the audio from the source (my Storyline output) and not the external microphone built into my laptop. Is this possible?
I've got something similar. I have an old project with video in it but we don't have any sourcefiles. I'd love to just record the screen and get the audio directly from the output to the speakers, not pick it up via a microphone placed near the speakers... Can we do this?
If it's a sound (of any sort) that lives on your computer, then there is an audio file for it somewhere. You don't have to "record" anything. Just locate that sound file and bring it into your project.
I'm actually recording a storyline project and want to capture the audio from the video, but not from the microphone built-in to my laptop. I want to record the audio the plays in the video but not pick up that audio playing through my computer speakers. Does that make sense?
