Cultural Leadership Retreat 2012!
Embrace the Roots of Change

The Cultural Leadership Retreat is a three-day, two-night weekend with interactive workshops designed to create an environment for individuals to explore cultural identity, share experiences, and discuss the meaning of leadership within the context of a diverse society. The workshops create a safe climate for sharing activities. Participants need to come prepared to actively participate in activities by sharing views, attitudes, beliefs and experiences openly and honestly. The Cultural Leadership Retreat is a unique opportunity to learn more about yourself, connect with other students, and to make a positive impact at UNLV.

The Cultural Leadership Retreat will take place from Friday, March 23 at 1:00 pm until Sunday, March 25 at 3:00pm.

Along with participating in the Cultural Leadership Retreat for its entirety, students are required to attend the following events:

·        Cultural Leadership Retreat Orientation (TBD during the first week of March).

Applications will be accepted until Friday, February 24^th

As part of the application process, you will be required to pay a $25 refundable deposit (cash or check, preferably check) at the front desk of the Office of Civic Engagement & Diversity, located in the Student Union, 3rd floor, room 316 by Friday, February 24, 2012 at 5 p.m. Applicants that have been accepted, but are suddenly unable to attend, will receive a refund if they contact Kristina Londy at kristin...@unlv.edu before Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 5 p.m.

40 applicants will be accepted to participate in the Cultural Leadership Retreat, and an alternate list will be formed. Priority will be given to first-time participants; however, former participants are encouraged to apply. Other factors used to choose applicants include, but are not limited to, quality of the application, date of the application, gender logistics that meet our lodging availability, and diversity of the group as a whole.

You will be notified by Friday, March 2^nd via email with your acceptance status.
