If you're not from one of those 12 countries, it won't let you register or if you've managed to do that, purchase. Luckily I've found a way around these issues. (You can avoid everything except registering by using US Unlocked, once you've paid on the site, you no longer need it and you can pay with anything)
Get a VPN service like NordVPN, that worked for me. You can refund the money after you done with this or you can try diffrent VPNs. Register to Qobuz. (for zip code type the zip code you got from shipito for safety's sake, i don't think this is necessary). After you've registered you won't need the VPN for Qobuz anymore.
Go to Qobuz and pay for something. I bought a song, but you can buy the streaming service as well. Once you've bought something, you can use your own MasterCard/Visa or PayPal to pruchase, and you won't need the old email or paypal again, you can send the money back to your bank account from Revolut. If you have textme and/or NordVPN subscription, you can cancel that as well. (Me personally I've bought a song with the new paypal, and bought a second one with my MasterCard, so it worked for me) (You can buy subscription with the new paypal if you'd like, you can change the payment method for it to be your credit card or your real paypal)
Greetings to all. I'm presently on a trial subscription to Qobuz. I really like it and I'm sure I'm going to subscribe in a few days when the trial runs out. I just bought a Dragonfly Black to play music on Qobuz using my iPhone 12 Pro and through my Sony headphones. But I travel around and sometimes my broadband signal is an issue. I've been thinking about buying a portable HDD for travel and filling it up with albums from Qobuz and maybe even using a NAS for home use. But then I realized that I may already have a solution and wondered if any of you have tried this with success. I have a subscription to Vox Cloud and use the Vox app on my Mac Air. Shouldn't I just be able to download albums from Qobuz to the Mac Air and upload them to Vox Cloud or is there a problem with that? I rarely have any connectivity problems when I use Vox to play music from their cloud. Thanks in advance.
Is there a album, EP or single you like that's not on Qobuz? Well just fill out this form and hope they'll add it! I got this from the support team when I asked if they could add a soundtrack compilation they didn't have:
Once you do that, also please work with Google for Qobuz to show up as a selectable default music service provider in the Google Assistant app so we can stop saying "...on Qobuz" all the time and just say "Hey Google, play X" to automatically play the track from Qobuz.
When I cast to CCA from Qobuz the volume button on the phone doesn't work, the streaming output seems like it's locked at the bottom. If I tap the cast icon I can adjust the sound, but not directly with the volume toggle. This works on Spotify, Tidal and Roon, so Qobuz seems different. Anyone else get this to work?
I'd like to stay with Qobuz since they reportedly pay their artists the best, but I'm just tired of having to reinstall the android app all the time just to get it to work. I'm an old guy bad with tech, and my PC is decent but isn't exactly a top of the line gaming processor, I have 100 Mbsp download speeds, but I still can't figure out why I can't play from PC directly to receiver over HDMI without the songs constantly lagging or skipping even on the lowest bitrates and regardless of using Wasapi or DirectSound. Ciao, Qobuz. It's been an okay but frustrating 13 months.
So, bottom line, I am inclined to stay with Qobuz. However, my problem is this - Qobuz's monthly subscription is significantly more expensive than Tidal's non hires tier. (I don't want to pay a year in advance) and Deezer's. This wouldn't be a major issue as Qobuz includes hires at no additional cost. BUT, I just cannot hear any improvement of hires over CD quality. I have read several articles that suggest that the human ear is incapable of hearing the undoubted technical improvement of hires and, from my standpoint, the evidence is fairly clear.
How anyone been able to resolved this problem? I am not the first person to get locked out of their Qobuz account immediately after subscribing to Sublime (Search r/qobuz for "Payment Refused" or Audiogon discussion 172466-155165). I have searched reddit, Audiogon and other audiophile forums and although this issue is very common, perhaps ubiquitous, no one seems to have ever had it satisfactorily resolved. In my case I had successfully downloaded 10 files from Qobuz for three weeks before subscribing to Sublime for the "up to 60% discount" on HiRes files. Qobuz charged my credit card and acknowledged my membership, but when I subsequently tried to make a download purchase I received an error message "The payment was refused. Verify your bank details before proceeding with a payment again." (this from the card I had just been charged $179.99 for my Sublime subscription". My bank says they are not seeing any declined transactions: must be the 'merchant'. I tried changing my payment options but I then received an error message that read, "We couldn't access your methods of payment because of a technical problem. If the problem persists, please contact Customer Service." I had previously interacted with Ken Richards at Qobuz customer support so I sent him an e-mail but I never received a reply, even after contacting him daily for a week. I attempted to use the on-line customer support function but that appears to be crippled and only results in a continuous loop. I finally was able to relay a message to Sèbastien but he has ghosted me without offering any assistance. I have tried all the standard methods to access my account, clearing the browser cache, changing browsers, changing devices, but the result is always the same. At this point I am unsure whether this denial of service is simply the result of inept technical support or if it is a deliberate scam designed to prevent users from utilizing the Sublime discount after they have paid for the service. Has anyone been able to resolve this issue on Qobuz?
I recently downloaded Qobuz to try out the hi-fi music alongside my new equipment (new audiophile here :D) and I'm having a blast save for one problem. Qobuz tracks keep cutting out periodically. I have a 2018 Mac book Air running Big Sur and it normally happens when I'm using my laptop for other things aside from Qobuz but even periodically happens when mostly everything other app is closed out. Is this really an issue of the app taking up immense amounts of CPU or whatever? And is there any way I can solve it? Clearing the cache help? I think? It honestly might just be a placebo. I increased my cache size to see if that helps and it really didn't.
Given that e.g. Tidal now finally starts offering FLAC format for its hi-res files plus it has Tidal Connect, which is convenient, or Apple Music giving you a quite good offering of Atmos content on top, at a hard to beat price, how would Qobuz, once the one and only proper high quality streaming service, still stand out from the crowd?
Hi there, so I've been using a free trial from qobuz and so far I like everything except for 1 thing, music recommendations . I can't get the app to recommend me music I might be interested in as well as spotify does. For example, I know on Qobuz at the end of the track, it is suppose to autoplay similar music but half of the time it does not and then at times that it does, it will recommend me music completely opposite of what I listen to. For example i'll listen to orchestra or lofi and it then recommends me rock or rap for some reason.
Planning on making the switch. Honestly fuck spotify treating their artists like shit, and from the sound tests I have heard TIDAL sounds way better than spotify. But I can't seem to find any sound tests for Qobuz. Now I know I wont get the cleanest audio through youtube but tidal sounded way louder and cleaner than spotify premium.
Does Qobuz count a certain number of streams as copies sold for the artist like spotify does? I don't feel like unsubscribing qobuz for and getting spotify, but I would like to help my favorite artist with many streams Any answers are appreciated, thank you :)
