The sweet Amish lady at the counter told me to bake the piggies at 375 degrees for one hour. I did so, and my husband and I were really pleased with the taste. Even better, they were very inexpensive. I bought the piggies in a blanket premade, but they would be easy to put together. The inner layer is loose sausage shaped into a half sausage shape. The next layer is stuffing, packed tightly around the sausage and held in place with tightly wrapped bacon. I baked the piggies uncovered for an hour. They bacon got a little dark, and dried out a tad, so next time I will cover the pan for about a half hour, and uncover for the final half hour. The bacon keeps the inside moist. Delicious!

I know this post is old but I just bought these at the Amish Market in Bristol PA on the recommendation of a gentleman in line with me. I am looking for better cooking instructions than what I was given at the meat counter. Thank you!

Our strategy for Angry Birds Space Pig Dipper level 6-27 is to send the Lazer bird over everything, redirecting it next to the Fat Pig and into the wooden planks below, releasing the underwater TNT. Use an Ice bird to blast the TNT next to the Fat Pig, then finish the level with Terence straight ahead. The score in the video below is 88,800.

Laser bird into underwater tnt as per video
Ice bird into water and pop just after it hits the chain, this causes the ice ball to float to the top, hit the wood & explode kiling the closest pig, debris falls down & pushes the big pig closer to the tnt.
Aim for tnt/big pig with green bird

Thanks. This is a great strategy. It seems to work just as well when the ice ball drops the two anchors but leaves the wood structure intact (fortunately, this is the more common result regardless). You can then send Terence into the tip of the left structure and through all the way to the TNT.

This is what happend in my case as well. The left wood structure did not fall after the ice bird, and I sent Terence through the top of it into the TNT. Luckily, it got the big pig too, and I ended with top score (for now at least).

Small update to @syrus great strat: aim Ice bird just below left structure (as close as possible without touching it), wait until he almost float up to the surface and then release. It makes left structure to frozen a bit and ice ball makes the rest. Sometimes even big pig gets killed. Terence clears second TNT and right side.

With @syrus your strategy and @liam addition I finally did it. Key was a two bird approach. The ice ball broke the left strukture, one of the three debris balls hit the TNT, killing all remaining pigs, even the big one.

Anyone playing the challenge today?
I hit 100k following an amalgamation of the wonderful strats posted above:
1. As in the video walkthrough. I scored 18k after this
2. Ice bird through the upper half of the chain, wait until he drifts up before activating, turning the bottom of the left structure a little icy. The ice ball split in three, flung upwards, detonating the TNT, taking out the the big piggy, and the right hand side structure. As always happens, at moments like this, disaster! The left hand structure failed to collapse (which it practically always does!) so I had to fire off Terrance
3. Into the left structure.
There are loads of points to be made with a two birder here.

Love this idea!!
Our piggies love the hard hay cubes that Kaytee makes, but I like your idea of using up the left-over bits of hay and kibble and making our own even better!! I wonder if you could add some parsley to the mix too?

I used a disposable aluminum pan and pooked holes in the bottom. I put aluminum foil on the oven rack below the pan and put the pan directly above it. I baked at 300 for 1 hour and it worked perfectly! ?

My guinea pig loved them too. Yet they still crumbled quickly. I rehydrated the recipe and put everything into a food processor and rolled them out again. They came out really hard and are doing their job of keeping her teeth worn down. Plus my guinea pig still loves them and she is a picky one. Thanks

Hi Christina! I love this recipe and am definitely going to try it! It is such a good way not to waste the bottom-of-the-bag-bits of hay! I do have 1 question though. Does it have to be actual applesauce, or could it be like a substitute with no preservatives/artificial coloring, flavouring/sugar? My sister has made an applesauce consistency a bit like a smoothie that was the consistency or applesauce. Would that work too? (It has no yogurt or protein powder in it).

We do have a very small section with pig sitters...but it is really incomplete and we need to work on it. Ross Mill Farms has a boarding program for pigs, but you may want to check with a pig rescue that is closeby, some will also board your pig for a small fee. Here is our link to the piggy sitters, but like I said, it is small and we haven't really kept up with this particular page as we do with some of the others. (Im not sure if the links are actually posting as clickable on the blog comments, so if they're not, go to the main part of the website and click links to other pig resources, the pig sitter section is in that part) -sitters.html

Cheri, you may have to reach out to her on Facebook or something because I do not believe anyone gets a notification when there is a reply to their comment like they would on FB. I assume people are using their real names while commenting, and if she is on FB, you should be able to find her easy enough :)

Very good article enjoyed reading it very much have a 1 year old pig named Wilbur and yes he gets into everything he's eaten lots of thing he's wasn't allowed cleared out the refrigerator many times and just find lots of things to get into just like he would be a 2 year old child I've tried to pig proof our house but thats hard when you have a smart pig . He likes to roll balls play with stuffed animals squeaky toys play with abacus all kinds of push animals a pianoand match box cars. pigs may not be the right pet for everyone but I'm sure glad that Wilbur is in our life he definitely makes life interesting. Thanks for the article you hit the nail on the head with it thumbs up

I love the article. I think more people who are wanting to get a 'min' pig should be required to take some sort of course or as was suggested, volunteer at a rescue, to give them an idea of how much their life will change as much as the lives of others around them. I became a new piggy mom in December when my adopted daughter and her fiance thought it be cute to give me one (Pixie) cute little pot belly for Christmas. I only knew a small bit about them at the time but I have gained a lot more knowledge since then and am still learning! They knew I was able and had the means of caring for one as a have a small hobby farm out here in the country. I had thought about it a while back but that was way before I even bought my home. Having a pot belly is a lot more responsibility than most people who do not have piggy knowledge would know. I never had children of my own except for helping to raise my best friends little girl (the one who gave me Pixie). She was the runt of the litter at 2 months of age weighing maybe 10lbs. She quickly attached herself to me of course but she has also been raised with a beagle and black mouth curr, her own kitten (I almost hit the kitten in the middle of the road one day when I was driving home, just 3 days before Pixie came) and 3 indoor birds. She tries to have her own way at least once a day, sometimes more. I quickly learned that she, like a 2yr old, was very demanding at times and tried her best to get her own way (includes very loud squealing. lol) She still does but not as much as before. She is so smart and is always learning. I can not believe how much she has grown since December. Her birthday is October 6th so I figured to keep a growth chart of her and her progress on the 6th of every month. Oh and I have to insist it is a must that they be spayed/neutered. Her first heat she was not the sweet little girl that I knew. She was very confused as her moods would constantly change and she would do things that she would not normally do. I quickly got with my vet and not long after her heat was over, she was spayed and happier because of it I am sure. Needless to say, I love her and her little piggy ways. I look at her eyes and can almost see her thinking or planning her next move...lol. She has her own pack'n'play with a mattress that she likes sleeping in with her special teddy, blankets and pillows. Her most favorite place to sleep is with me but I don't mind. As I said I am still learning and will continue to learn. My friends older daughter has said on a whim oh I want a pot belly piglet, many times and I try to explain to her the responsibility of one and not allowing one to become bratty and get its own way all of the time. It is a fad thing with her, something to show off and say she has. Even her own mother tried to explain it to her. She is always on the go and almost never home to care for her own 2 little dogs. I just hope she comes to realize she does not have the time or responsibility and decide not to get one, at least until she is more stable or able to put the time and patience and love for one and not just for a novelty item to put in the barn and show off every once in a while. Anyway, I am glad to have found this page and the groups on facebook. I look forward to more learning that can help with Pixie and my new life journey.
