Title: Release Engineer

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Responsible for migrating all components of the application
including .NET code, Oracle packages, database changes and reports across
the development landscape (Test, Model & Production).
- Collaborate with Release manage on administering the change
process of auditing, reconciling, & recording dependency on all
release components.
- Administer and maintain source control system: include creation
of branches and performing code merge.
- Maintain and enhance automated application build processes.
- Responsible for application builds including recommendation
to improve the process.
- Responsible for technical configuration related to the releases.
- Ensuring accurate, timely and controlled migration to all
environments.
- Participates research and recommendation of software / tool
to support & facilitate releases.
- Works with change management for release schedule
coordination and problem communication, as well as integration with
operational planning and project management.
- Works with ACT, IT and other groups as needed to facilitate
the migrations.
- Basic Technology: .NET Framework, Oracle, IIS, SQL Server,
web services, TFS 2012, job scheduler tool (Autosys or UC4).
- Applies knowledge of process best practices and supporting
technology solutions for continued process improvement.
- Work with release manager to maintain release management
reference materials up to date.
- Participates in benchmarking discussions with organizations
to ensure release management is aligned with other ACT processes and
industry best practices.
- Additional responsibilities include applying knowledge of
best practices and supporting technology solutions for continual process
improvement.
- Performs project compliance audits and assist in managing the
release management process.
- Evaluates release process to determine maturity and plan
improvements.
- Works to provide and implement solutions that meet &
exceed the existing needs of the organization and customer base.
Preferred Experience:
- ITIL Practitioner certification.
- Program / Project management certification.
- At least five years of experience defining and executing
release process activities including: plan, build and configuration, test,
implementation preparation and communication, and review.
- At least three years of experience developing, documenting
and implementing quality assurance and internal control processes in
support of system development life cycle, change control, configuration
management, and measurements to achieve service level agreements.
