UB Law Downtown Resolution

Hi Everyone,

Last week, the Guild introduced a resolution to the Student Bar
Association that would support the re-location of the law school to
downtown Buffalo. The resolution was drafted in anticipation of
UB2020's plans to expand and fundamentally re-organize the entire
university.

The resolution won a simple majority, but not the required 2/3rds.
Part of the hesistance of SBA class representatives was that they felt
they did not know how law students felt about the issue. Please let
them know how you feel! You can join the facebook group in support of

The facebook page also has a copy of the resolution.

Also, please sign a petition in support of the resolution that is
circulating around the law school. We'll be tabling with it on Monday,
March 31st, in the morning. Lastly, please contact SBA class directors
and ask them to vote "yes." They will be voting on a very similar
resolution at an SBA meeting on April 1st. Regardless of the outcome
on April 1st, there will be a student wide referendum on the issue on
April 16-17th. SBA will hold a forum to debate and discuss the issue,
probably on April 10th. We'll let you know the details as they
unfold.
