Hello All,

This Tuesday, March 3rd, at 6pm in Room 106 the UB Lawyers Guild
is screening "The Jena 6" a documentary about a six African American
high school students prosecuted on trumped up attempted murder charges
in a small town in Louisiana in 2006.

The movie will be followed a facilitated discussion on racial
disparities in criminal justice and will feature former UB Law student
Amanda Connor, currently a public defender for Monroe County. With
Ms. Connor's insight on the public defender scene, we hope the
conversation results in some possible solutions for the injustice in
our criminal system. As always, free pizza and drinks!!!

**Also, the Lawyers Guild will be present in the law school lobby
over the next two days to honor Students Day Against the Death
Penalty. We will have presentations, information, and as always baked
goods. Please stop by!

**Finally, we will be hosting our Annual Meet & Greet, tenatively
scheduled for April 4th. This will be an opportunity to meet with
progressive lawyers and non-legal organizations (which need legal
help) in Buffalo and the surrounding area. Please save the date.

Thank you and we hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!!!!
