Hello Buffalo Guilders,

Please see the message below from the Virginia Refugee Student Achievement Project, thanks!

The Virginia Refugee Student Achievement Project has partnered with Barnes & Noble to have a weekend (November 13-15th) where we will receive 15% of the proceeds of all things purchased providing the customer shows a voucher at the time of check out. This voucher (attached to this e-mail) are valid at any Barnes and Noble store around the country! We will be having an event at the Barnes & Noble located in Clarendon to kick off our weekend and explain, to those who come by, who we are and what we do.

If you do not have a need to purchase anything at Barnes and Noble (you can even buy coffee there and it counts towards our efforts!), but you still want to help, we will have a wish list of items that our program needs. You can choose any item and go to the store and purchase it or you can order it over the phone. Unfortunately, Barnes & Noble has not set up a system where you can buy items online and have it count towards our organization, but they have assured us that any orders paid for on that day and associated with our voucher number will be counted.

All the proceeds will go towards the Refugee Student Achievement Project. As some of you might know, we are a non-profit organization that helps resettle refugees into the United States. We provide the tools that our clients need in order to become self sufficient in their new life here in America. Within our prgram exists The Refugee Student Project that serves over 500 refugee, asylee and victims of human trafficking children in Northern Virginia. Over 300 of those children live in Fairfax County alone. Our program gives school supplies, arranges tutoring services, plans and hosts social events, and helps with school registration to name only a few of the services that we provide. With your help, we can improve our efforts by helping these children that are in need through our event at Barnes & Noble.

What I ask of you is to forward this e-mail to as many people as you can. Make copies of the vouchers that I attach to this e-mail and hand them out to your family and friends. You can also access the voucher from our website (http://arlingtondiocese.org/mrs/events.php). Please spread the word so that we can have as many people as possible help us in our cause!  Our event will take place on November 13-15th and the vouchers will be valid in every Barnes & Noble around the country on those dates.

Please remember to hand in your voucher at the time of purchase in order to have the proceeds go to the Virginia Refugee Student Achievement Project. If you want a copy of our wish list, please check out: http://my.barnesandnoble.com/CCDA-Refugee-Svss-WishList/cm/1959355/ If you order something from the wishlist you can call your local Barnes & Noble to place the order. As long as it is ordered and paid for during our fundraiser days, (and the voucher number is given) we will get the item plus the proceeds!

I thank you all for your help; our children will certainly appreciate your kindness and generosity.

Have a wonderful day,

Jessica Estrada
